I don't think anyone who genuinely wants the best for the club would want Brooks in the team... They'd recognise his performances are holding the club back and would want change.

Should he be resigned for next year, again not many option out there. He gets a long service discount coming to the club and also Nofo's contract, so yes I would sign him as a 6 in 2024 at a price of 600k to 700k (long term discount on cap is $180k). I would only sign Brooks for 2024 then you have clean slate in 2025.
If you do not sign Brooks for 2024 the only real options Kyle Flanagan and I don't particularly want him.
Come 2025 no AD and no Brooks go for Williams

As i've said, he's the worst half at the club. I would much rather have Laurie at 6 and Wakeham at 7. Even if Laurie does very little, it doesn't matter. The point is to have Brooks completely out of the team so as to not destroy the attack. The only two tries on the weekend came from sets where Brooks didn't touch the ball.
He is not worth $600-700k, he's worth literally nothing because he contributes nothing. Even his defence is poor. I have no idea what we do next year, Sheens has ruined us for this year and probably next year unless something massive changes. With Brooks at halfback I don't think we win a game.
Honestly i've just about had it for this season. Following this club is exhausting.

I'll watch it. Hate to say it but I really enjoy watching the Broncos play, really good style of footy. I don't think we'll get close.

It’s such a myth , that it drives me crazy . He played the backend of last year and we won about as often with him as we did with brooks . Which is not bloody often . All of them suck ! And you know what ? All the top halfbacks are in their 30s . The nrl is screwed in a few years .
Seriously go through them , hunt 32 I believe , DCE , early thirties , Reynolds early thirties , Townsend , early thirties . Moses is 29. The. There’s clearly the exception , then there’s just a huge gap , then there’s maybe guys O’Sullivan , Tanah Boyd etc.
And that’s the generation that everyone was talking about 5-10 years ago lacking in development . It’s all coming to fruition now . Walker at the roosters and Katoa at the dolphins will be worth 1.5 mil in a few years if they keep going , because being a young half who can actually be decent in first grade will be such a premium .
The haves and have nots is going to get so much steeper .
We have those gun youngsters coming through , but Jesus we need to get lucky big time in the next few years to wait for lLarge and Da Silva .
It’s depressing to be honest . So a 30 something half may have always been the smart option because of ruined a whole generation of halves have been by the nrl development strategies . That were proven not to work a few years ago .

It's not a recent thing though, it goes back all the way to 2021. The fact of the matter is we've won 2 of our last 22 games when Brooks has played halfback. His last win was round 7 last year. It isn't coincidence, the team is genuinely better without him in the lineup.
Pearce is not the answer. as another poster said, he was past his best when at the Knights, so if we think Brooks is ordinary, Mitch will be worse. We need to not panic, our forwards are going well, we just need a half to catch and pass and give early ball to the centres, perhaps Wakeham can do this job.

A half that can direct the team around the park and we'll be a completely different team. I think giving Bula a shot at 1 would be beneficial.
