I think the signing of Roberts is an indication that there are not many decent centres on the market that the team is willing to chase. Signing him to fill a spot and hope for the best.

In regards to the war chest, seems that we have spent a decent amount of it for 2023 but there would be plenty sitting there for 2022.

Maybe time to front-load? How much does everyone think we have left??

I think that’s a great point, there’s just not much available so I don’t mind upgrading Roberts for this season.

On minimum contract I don’t think there’s much downside and gives us time to either see a youngster step up or wait for the “right” fit.

A lot of people think Roberts is a great signing because he is on a small contract. Personally I disagree, I would rather see a kid given a contract that has potentially a long career in front him. Just think the Jet is grounded

I don't mind Roberts, I have a bit of a soft spot for him and want to see him succeed.

Yeah Musgrove needs to do a lot to wipe my memories of the game against Manly.

Certainly not a great game from him was it, I had such high hopes at the start of season for him after the All Stars game, I thought he was strong and aggressive in that match.

Does anyone know how many games he’s managed to string together since he started with us? Hopefully with some continuity we will see him find some form.

He’s played 38 career games across six seasons.

11 games in total for Wests Tigers 2020-21.

How he got a long deal with us is perplexing.

@garry Things change very quickly , with a few signings made for the future I'm guessing some players must be very nervous for their footy futures 24 hours is a long time in rugby league

Still not convinced about Thompson, but would take him at the right price.

Yeah agree mate, could easily free up another spot by letting Lucy walk as well.

@garry he’s an excellent front rower. He’d make a huge difference to our team. Him and Stefano as our starting props could match it with anyone.

@avocadoontoast Price would want to be reduced Avo , we have a couple of blokes if we put the time and effort into them could quite easily reach Thompson's ability / level

@unhappy-tiger for sure hap, he’s on too much at the dogs. But at the right price he’s a quality forward who would definitely improve our middle
