@celtic_tiger god no. I think I’ve been pretty vocal that Brooks has zero organisational skills. I’m hoping we’ve either signed someone to play 7 or they’re going to be getting Api to steer us around from 9.
I value Bateman and Klemmer coming higher than Hastings staying.
Api can’t steer us around when he won’t be on the park for the full 80 and who can we sign for 7 who is better than Hastings apart from pie in the sky suggestions like Moses and Brown who we are virtually no chance of signing.
I think you need to get your head around the fact that Brooks is our organising half moving forward for better or more likely worse.
All this despite the fact that even Brooks most ardent supporters have admitted that this past year conclusively demonstrated that he is never an organising half in his life.
At least the club is consistent in making the wrong decision each and every time.
The Pom just posted on the other Forum, worth a read
@jedi-tiger Moses is not signing for us in a million years.
Why on earth would he strap himself to this bin fire.
From the Pom
Hastings has scored himself a hefty pay rise with the Knights.
Once it was clear that Brooks wasn’t going to be released for 2023 Knights changed focus.
Sheens met with Hastings management & made the point very clear that his future was at 13.
It moved fast from there.
The hope is to build a forward pack that Brooks can actually play off.
Bateman deal will be finalised in the week but he will be here.
Very early talk for Brooks but the club would hope to present a restructured deal for 2 year extension but a reduced rate.
Very important meeting with Moses management next week where a formal offer is expected to be presented.
Matamua expected to be elevated to top 30.
@celtic_tiger reckon he will Celtic we will throw the sink at him
If we do miss Moses (don't think we will) George Williams would be the other option you would think with Brooks to 6 however that would require a transfer fee
I’m hoping all this Moses talk is some kind of smokescreen. Even though he has improved as a player and has a better kicking game than anybody we have at the club, he doesn’t deserve to be paid a cent considering how he went about exiting the club.
@eastiemagpie I think he will be here in 24.
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
Looks like it’s welcome to the club David Klemmer. He might be the forward leader we’ve missed the past 6 years or so 🤞

It is now, was never intended to be, but Hastings wants to be a half & saw no future here for that.
I believe he’ll be used as 2nd row, other signings may determine that
Sounds a bit like Hastings through the toys out of the cot when he wasn't seen by Sheens as the 7

Hastings wasn’t offered any kind of contract by the club.
How does that equate to throwing the toys out the pram.

What do you do if you see him as a 13 and he doesn't want to play 13?

@helmesy bloody hell forgot klemmer
Absolutely no excuses for brooks behind that pack

why not? 4 x premiership winning coach and excellent pack to play behind. I think we’re in the best position we’ve been in for years.
