Gee we need this World Cup to finish so we can finally see what our squad is gonna look like. I’m really over the speculations and innuendo that keep coming thick and fast.
Doueihi set to manage himself
Wests Tigers playmaker Adam Doueihi is taking over his own management and has placed a hefty price tag on his services.
Doueihi has been selling himself as a No.7 or No.6 to a rival club and is after a three-year deal worth at least $900,000 a season. I’ve been told by those with knowledge of the situation he wants a minimum of $850,000 for the first season, with his price going up in future years.
With a dearth of quality No.7s in the competition, it’s a good tactic, but it remains to be seen if a club will go for that price. He is a quality player, but has had knee issues in the past. Even with healthy legs, he is going to need a breakout season to reach that level of income.
There are about half-a-dozen $1 million halves in the NRL, headed by Nathan Cleary, Cameron Munster and Daly Cherry-Evans, but Doueihi is not in that class.
The Tigers’ roster is better than it has been and if he can cash in on good service from the likes of Api Koroisau, Jackson Hastings and maybe Luke Brooks he may mount a case for an upgrade.

Doueihi and Hastings look to be heading for the exits.

See ya later Adam, not worth half that
perhaps Jack whighton to the club in 2024 to partner brooks in the halves
7 Brooks
6. Wighton
sorry Jedi but that would be a total disaster. Neither of them can manage a game. If Hastings goes we need an organising halfback.
@avocadoontoast Perhaps if we could get a release for George Williams we could go with
7. G Williams
6. Brooks
Problem is the transfer fee it would cost for G Williams hope douhie is ok playing centre if he wants to stay in 2024
@helmesy seriously if douhie is worth 900k then Moses is worth every bit of 1.1 million
If Brooks or douhie want 900k plus for further contracts in 2024 they can both leave

williams would be fine. If Brooks stays he’s not playing the organising half role
@helmesy you know I don't think klemmer is worth it and I don't think tigers should be looking at swapping Hastings or Brooks for 2023 why strengthen another team...
Douhie seems to be the player nobody is talking about where does he fit in for 2024 ?
I don’t know about Doueihi but I reckon he is long odds to be our five-eight next year.
Ad will be in the 6.
Interesting day tomorrow with Brooks and Hastings expected to return to training.
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
@avocadoontoast all comes down to price really, if Sheens can convince Brooks to take 700k or 750k to finish his career as a one club player as a running 6 then it is a good deal, anymore and we should look elsewhere
As for douhie and Hastings if we lose both of them in 2024 that should free up 1.2 million to go after Moses or George Williams

I believe his price started higher than that when he started negotiations with the Tigers.

Jedi I don’t want to rehash the Brooks thing again but seriously he’s worth nowhere near $750k. His performances over the past 3 years would indicate something around $300k-$400k. He’s in the bottom tier of nrl halves.
For the others I wouldn’t pay more than $400k for AD (he’s worse than when he joined us) and Hastings $500k tops. All three are low tier nrl players.
