@avocadoontoast

Just depends on how much we can get Thompson for. At 500k, it's a great deal but paying nearly the full freight is a bit risky considering how he's performed in the NRL so far and the fact that he's missed a few games because of suspension.

@declan The suspensions is the only thing that worries me. I think in a badly beaten pack last year he was really good. Good running metres, good defensively and definitely not a plodder. I think he and Stef would be our best middles by some margin.

The Pom has posted that Paulo is staying at Parra.

Not surprised by that.

Same but disappointed none the less - again

@hodgo I think Api and Papali’i will turn out to be close to our best signings ever. As great as it it would be to get Api here for 2022, I think our team will only really compete for finals football in 2023 so I’d probably rather keep Blore and see if he becomes something special. For 2022 I’m just hoping to see some improvement.

avo i normally agree with many of your posts but not this one. Blore is yet to prove anything yes he has potential but will he fulfill it if we can swap him for a player who has fulfilled that potential I’m all for it

Im pretty certain Blore is the type of player we would watch kill it at another club and lament...."what if...."

Maybe so but going by report's he was offered up as a trade for api yet the club he started at as junior apparently knocked it back why I wonder

Basing a lot on unsubstantiated "reports"

@yanni you may well be right, we haven’t seen enough to make a call either way. I think he does have a lot of potential though, particularly defensively.

I just don’t think 2022 is looking good regardless so I’m reluctant to do trades for younger players who might turn out good after another year of first grade. 2023 is the year.

I’m more upbeat. I think 2022 will be a break out year for a number of players.

I think he adds something to our side defensively that we don't have, he has extremely high tackle effciency and seems to be in the right places in defence. Things that our other second rowers could learn. I am really hoping to see him have a greater impact in attack this coming season, we need him to become a much more damaging runner of the ball.

I am hoping to see Blore or Simpkins make a similar jump that Stefano made this year.

TIGERS LOCK IN ROBERTS

The Tigers have officially handed James Roberts a top 30 deal. The Tigers enticed James Roberts back through a train and trial deal during summer but the ex-NSW centre has impressed enough to be given a full-time contract.

Roberts’ joined the Tigers last season on a cut-price deal. He played 11 matches in the top grade for the Tigers. Roberts is the 29th player contracted to the Tigers for next season, leaving them with one roster spot to fill.

Interesting, I am not as down on him as most people but am surprised they upgraded him so soon.
