@garry really surprised he was supposedly offered. Why would we trade away a potential top line player when we are no realistic chance of winning in 2022 anyway. I’m happy to wait, all the good young guys need to be retained.

I think Blore has really only shown glimpses so far, but I really believe he has a lot to offer. Even at this early stage his defence on the edge is something we have really lacked for a long time.

Here’s a good one - if you could choose one of our two 2023 recruits to join us now who would you choose? Koroisau or Papali'i?

That’s a tough one, but I’d take Papali'i We need someone who would win the forward battle. I think that is Papali'i. Without Koroisau I’m confident we could still improve the dummy half service with Liddle & Simpkin having last year under their collective belts. Don’t get me wrong I’d love Koroisau as well but if it’s a choice between the two then I’d take Papali'i.

I find it a bit of a stretch to believe that the Brooks to Newcastle deal was ready to be signed off only for Sheens to stymie at the 11th hour.Luke had publicly stated his desire to remain a Tiger and one of Sheens first statements was the assertion that he is going nowhere.Still the media wouldn’t relent and the back page style narrative persisted.Finally the gossip loses its steam when Tim puts it to bed.Glad to witness a show of strength given the shellacking we’ve taken,especially via Murdoch platforms.In the face of adversity I think we’ve tended PR wise to turn the other cheek rather than go on the front foot,something I believe Madge has been guilty of.For mine the information battles have to be absolutely on point.Also,interesting to note that Dan Tallintyre has moved on.Wonder what’s cooking there?

Welcome to the forum 👍 I absolutely agree about being more proactive around the narrative and vision of the club. For example, Eddie and I started the podcast 3 years ago, not one person from WT media/PR department has ever reached out, even just out of courtesy.

Truth be told it was Adam Hartigan that saw the value in what we were doing and made contact.

@tiger-symmetry What a strong first post, I agree that we have let the media take swings at us for the past few years. The thing that came out of Sheens 1st interview with Buzz was he was willing to set the record straight. I'm hoping we see a more proactive response to the media moving forward.

@helmesy Api

Spine is priority

We need to really bed down our spine and we need leadership in our spine. Which api brings.

2nd row - I'm very keen on Blore and Tuilagi having thsi year to prove themselves

Top 8 2023

There are alot of rumours not making sense at present. Can’t see Blore being offered to anyone. He is highly rated. Also, I have heard from the club many times that they are committed to Brooks and he to the club. I find it almost impossible to believe he wa as good as gone.

@Helmesy- Papalii

Not surprised by that.

Depressing but there was never anything concrete linking us to him. Just hearsay.

Im a big blore fan and without a suitable replacement seems like madness, however api changes a us considerably imo. it gives our new spine a chance a year early. If we want to try next year you need to di it.

@hodgo I think Api and Papali’i will turn out to be close to our best signings ever. As great as it it would be to get Api here for 2022, I think our team will only really compete for finals football in 2023 so I’d probably rather keep Blore and see if he becomes something special. For 2022 I’m just hoping to see some improvement.

@declan I’m still hoping we get Thompson. I know he’s a player that divides opinion but I think he’s the sort of player we need.

Agreed, he’s worth more to us than the Dogs I reckon.
