@helmesy Yes
If we can keep Hastings Brooks Douhie klemmer papali and Api on the park we will play semi finals in 2023
I personally dont think it is that cut and dried. I think with that squad we compete for the 8....which would do me a this stage.
Yeah 7-10.
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
@avocadoontoast according to you Brooks won't be here in 2023
that was probably Newcastle's plan try and offer frizell and klemmer for brooks, again don't think Sheens is interested in a Brooks early release to knights.

Or…the long Sheens holds out the better the deal gets 😉

I was asking where we were linked to Frizell but you’ve gone off on a tangent.
@helmesy maybe, frizell is 700k this year 2023 if we get Bateman don't think we would take frizell at 31
Maybe Dom Young or Best perhaps
@avocadoontoast whatever mate maybe Newcastle were keen on the Roosters picking up frizell...
Fair dinkum, obvious ploy to see if tigers were going to bite with frizell and klemmer for an early release in 2023

Could anyone imagine an alternate universe 3 years ago where Newcastle were begging us to take Klemmer and Frizell from them in exchange for Brooks?
How good is a news limited Luke Brooks contract exaggeration! 1.3 mil ? Lol
as recently as a month ago it was anywhere from 800-1 mil . Now it’s 1.3 ? Haha
It used to irritate me because it sent fans into a tailspin , because thier estimations were realistic . But this latest one is funny . That morally bankrupt excuse for a news company is everything that is wrong with the world tied up in 1 company .
As recently as the late 90s and early 2000s, being a journalist was considered to be job you aspired to with pride , now it’s anything but . Mainly because of Rupert Murdoch , and the internet . Sorry to digress , it’s just so funny it’s kind of sad .
@lestronge they have made up the salary all year, anywhere from 900k to 1.3 million lol
I guess the bigger the lie the more people will believe it
Twal, Joffa, steph, pole, tuki are our top 30 props currently under contract.
We have let go or traded musgrove, Tamou from the 2022 squad.
klemmer heavily rumoured to pick up one starting prop spot.
given Tuki seems a long way off first grade and there is no one else in the top 30 close to debuting, should we pick up Woods on a 1 year deal?
England back-rower John Bateman has refused to elaborate on reports linking him with a potential return to the NRL with the Wests Tigers.
Bateman enjoyed two successful seasons with Canberra in 2019 and 2020 before returning to Super League side Wigan.
A Wigan spokesman told AAP there had been no official approach for Bateman's services.
The 29 year-old has a contract until the end of the 2024 season and was not about to give the story more airtime ahead of England's World Cup quarter-final with Papua New Guinea.
"I'm pretty sure I'm here to talk about England and the World Cup," Bateman said.
"I'll talk to you about that after the World Cup. I want to focus on the World Cup, to be fair."
Bateman will be part of an England side aiming for redemption against the Kumuls.
He featured in the Great Britain Lions team - which was England in all-but name - that lost to PNG in Port Moresby in 2019.
It was the first time a Great Britain or England side had been defeated by the Kumuls in 29 years.
"It was pretty embarrassing, that whole tour was embarrassing," Bateman said.
"We hadn't lost to them for so many years and they handed it to us.
"I think a few of the boys who played in that game are looking forward to this weekend.
"It's the main sport over there and they put the game in high esteem. They'll be coming out all guns firing and looking forward to getting stuck into us."

- @helmesy You’d think most guys still playing in the World Cup won’t be dragged into club contract talk just yet, at least not publicly. I certainly doubt they’d want anything announced yet, just becomes a greater distraction.

For sure 👍

He didn’t deny it. Very positive.
