WT are not in a luxurious position where we can "have a crack" at something. We need to rebuild and improve but from a base. For 2023 we need to build from a base of at worst Brooks and maybe better, but not throw the baby out with the bathwater for something that might be worse.
In my opinion it was a mistake to let Madden go.
He can do most of the things Brooks can for a fraction of the price.

I agree with this. To answer Avo's previous hypothetical, if Brooks asked for a release and we still had Madden, I would probably let him go. Without Madden, my answer is no and I think Madden is inferior to Brooks (not by a lot)

Agreed and I'd extend that to better option than hasting/AD/Brooks. What we have now is not top 8 quality. IMO fix the pack first but the spine needs improvement.
