If Staines is on $500k, then Peachey was more than $500k… hard to believe, both over valued. Peachey was struggling for a deal when we signed him, so it’s baffling the size of his contract.
I like the Staines signing and IMO it's clearly Benji telling him to show us what he's got. Aiming for fullback for sure.
If Peachey was on >$500k then the club is even more foolish than I thought (which was honestly very very foolish).
What makes me happy is that blind Freddy can see that the likes of peach, Tamou, Liddle, Roberts, musgrove etc were not first grade standard and sheens/Benji have just cleaned house. Even players like Luciano, garner and Dias whilst first graders are not top 8 in their positions and so we aren’t willing to pay them overs to stay. A lot of people give sheens crap because he hasn’t coached NRL is 10yrs but in 2011 we were a fantastic team to watch and by 2013 if he had been allowed to stay he would have been coaching brooks, teddy, Moses and JAC. The confidence of the new coaching staff to allow players like Laurie, hasting, douhie and brooks to go to market is fantastic and shows that we are no longer run by people just desperate to keep their jobs and try and survive. Sheens and benji have nothing to prove in this game and that has shifted the balance of power significantly in the clubs favour. I have never been more bullish

I’m happy we got Staines but I’m more excited we got rid of Peachey. Sheens has done a great job of getting rid of some horrible Madge signings.
Totally agree with the Staines / Peach comments (Wish it was 2 years). We are def headed in a better direction.
Some if the Madge signings were better than we have had in years (Api, Papi, Hastings, Kenny). He also dead wooded quite a but. Lets not forget the Clubs reputation in the marketplace.
Really hanging for the Brooks outcome to be sorted for the Player and the club.
