Really can’t see why they would release Leilua a year early just to sign Cotric.

Cowboys can’t be that desperate to get him if they’re not budging on either of the two young backrowers.

Seems like the player manager is trying to get an early release but Dean Ritchie has done an inadequate job constructing a convincing argument.

Some interesting tidbits in this,

The Pom said

Jackson Ferris from Cronulla is in discussions to join the club as a depth signing as a 2nd row/centre cover, will be a minimum wage deal if it comes through.

Discussions are being had about a potential swap/release for Koroisau to join the club immediately in 2022, Liddle is the obvious choice but also depends if Panthers want him. Liddle keen to stay & fight for his spot be sees the writing on the wall.

Cotric is mulling over a last ditch offer from the Raiders as of Sunday night, they’ve upped how much they will pitch in but the deal only remains a 2 year deal at this stage.
Our offer is over 3 years covering 450k for 2022 & closer to 500k in 2023.
Luke Thompson deal a long way off with his salary just too much at this point in time, Sheens feels he’d be a massive addition but doesn’t want to unbalance the salary cap & have too much invested in the front row.

The club is extremely confident of giving fans a Christmas present of a upgraded extension for Stephano taking him till the end of 2025.

@garry has Jackson Ferris played second row before? A bit on the smaller side for a second rower. (178) I think Cotric will be at Canberra next year.

Intering info from the pom

Api wants to come and Liddle wants to stay. Suddenly we are more attractive than the reigning premiers 😁

@tiger5150 gravy and Christmas presents - sounds like my favourite Paul Kelly song

The Ute signed up to 2025 would be a task boost of confidence for the club. And give us fans some hope also

So is the answer to the question in that song Tim Sheens?

Dean Ritchie reporting we’re trying to get Api immediately…

Wests Tigers have reacted to their need for a fast start to the 2022 NRL season by trying to lure incoming hooker https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/nrl-2022-knights-superstar-kalyn-ponga-opens-up-on-his-future-wayne-bennett-and-playing-fullback/news-story/9ba12f944c939b36b0fc1a28604e9fc a" target="_parent" data-tgev="event119" data-tgev-container="bodylink" data-tgev-order="9ba12f944c939b36b0fc1a28604e9fca" data-tgev-label="sport" data-tgev-metric="ev">Apisai Koroisau to Concord a year early.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal Wests approached premiers Penrith’s high-performance manager Matt Cameron to offer up either Jake Simpkin or Jacob Liddle – both emerging young hookers — in exchange for Koroisau.

Penrith took less than a minute to reject the daring proposal for the immediate player swap as they begin their chase for back-to-back grand final victories.

I really hope we don't lose Simpkin. The timing lines up so well for when Api will finish and he takes over

@canberratiger absolutely. Would be a shame to lose him. Liddle is the obvious choice but Penrith come off second best.

I'm fairly confident we won't be losing Simpkin.

Movement has begun…

Parramatta are set to sign Josh Hodgson on a two-year deal to replace Reed Mahoney, while fellow Raider Bailey Simonsson will join the Eels immediately.

Simonsson has accepted a three-year deal to return to Sydney, which looks set to pave the way for Nick Cotric to return home to the nation’s capital.
