Also , another thing that killed us last season, was the mid season rule changes . We clearly seemed to train for a different type of football , and these changes ended our season before it began .
Also I think Aaron Grays training methods were not suited to the new nrl .
hopefully they’ve learnt thier lessons and are good to go .
sorry about ranting , I’m actually optimistic about next season.
I agree, they did not properly prepared for the new rules.

@helmesy hopefully this was an issue with the assistant coaches (though surely the head coach is ultimately accountable)
It may be December but the movement will continue through the month and well into January as NRL teams finalise their 2022 rosters. And the hot topic among recruitment chiefs at the moment is around the backline.
Parramatta are eyeing off the signature of winger Bailey Simonsson but The Roar understands the Wests Tigers have also mentioned his name.
Simonsson’s move to Sydney hinges on whether Nick Cotric leaves the Bulldogs. The Green Machine are keen on bringing him home. That move is dependent on how much the Bulldogs are willing to pay of Cotric’s hefty salary.
Should the Raiders reunion not eventuate, look for the Wests Tigers to enter the mix.

UPDATE ON COTRIC AND THOMPSON!
I’ve been told Nick Cotric is as good as a done deal to the Wests Tigers, as the Roosters have ended discussions with him.
However, there may be a speed bump in the Luke Thompson pursuit.
The club started discussions with both Bulldogs and Thompson a couple of months ago, which was denied due to financial purposes.
Due to the Bulldogs latest signings, the Wests Tigers led by Tim Sheens (very big admirer of Thompson in his ESL days) re-entered discussions thinking the bulldogs would budge on there original offer however the club remains to sit strong on there original offer of only paying around 100k of his 800k salary - which has scared off a few clubs
The Wests Tigers are trying to catch there bluff as they know the Bullsogs are undergoing salary cap pressure as it’s reported they have 7 spots with 500k to spend in season 2023, but it’s all dependent on if either party budges on whether a deal gets done or not - unsure at this stage still pretty 50/50

Forgotten Man doesnt have a good strike rate but i hope he is right about Cotric
General talk is Raiders are front runners for Cotric. Hope they’re wrong
It’s weird because the talk was he was settled in Sydney.

@helmesy yep that's what I thought too. It will be disappointing if we miss out on him but not the end of the world. I'd probably prefer Thompson. I think we need a player like him.
This is what frustrates me about this time of year. We’ve signed him, we haven’t signed him…. On and on and on…..
Last week he was at a Tigers BBQ apparently
This week ……. ??????

I guess it just goes to show it’s never official until it’s officially announced by the club. But I do share your frustration
NRL transfer news: North Queensland Cowboys’ bid to sign Wests Tigers Luciano Leilua for 2022
The Cowboys’ attempts to fast-track Wests Tigers star Luciano Leilua’s move north could trigger a series of player movements around the NRL.
Cashed-up North Queensland will formally ask Wests Tigers this week to consider approving an early release for forward Luciano Leilua.
Leilua has signed a three-year deal with the Cowboys – worth a cool $2.1 million – from 2023, but North Queensland has room in its salary to accomodate the Wests star from next year.
The Daily Telegraph can also reveal the two North Queensland players the Tigers have requested in a possible player swap for Leilua for 2022 – rising back-rowers Jeremiah Nanai and Heilum Luki.
However, North Queensland rejected the proposal and have started contract talks to extend Nanai, 18, and Luki, 20, who are entering the final year of their current deals and can both sign with rival clubs for the 2023 season.
The Tigers have shown considerable interest in Nanai, who is rated among the finest young back-rowers in rugby league.
Leilua hasn’t agitated for an early release but the situation is delicate.
While the Tigers want to retain Leilua for the final year of his deal, the player’s contract will increase from $550,000 this season to between $600,000 and $650,000 in 2022.
Wests officials need to discuss whether the club can obtain value for that price. Player managers call it ROI – return on investment.
Should Cotric be squeezed out of Canterbury due to the Bulldogs’ precarious salary cap position and end up at Concord, Wests may need to shed a player — which could be Leilua.
Wests, at this stage, are suggesting Leilua won’t be granted an early release.
And, by allowing him to walk early, the Tigers could suddenly be left short of an edge back-rower.
Parramatta’s Isaiah Papali’i has signed for 2023 but the Eels, at this stage, won’t entertain a premature release given the 2021 Dally M back-rower of the year provides tremendous value on a modest contract.
The easygoing Leilua would be happy to stay in 2022 but equally content to leave if the right offer was lodged.
Leilua is a popular member of the Tigers squad and was a passionate supporter of Michael Maguire when the coach was under pressure to retain his job after last season.
Tigers management also continue holding talks to re-sign prop Stefano Utoikamanu, who joined an extended NSW State of Origin squad this year.
Cotric is also a genuine target for the Canberra Raiders but rumours persist he wants to remain in Sydney.
Canberra management may consider allowing Bailey Simonsson to leave for Parramatta next season if the Raiders can sign Cotric.
Wests last week signed Penrith’s Api Koroisau for 2023 and 2024 with a mutual option for 2025.
