Apparently all the talk about Staines as first choice fullback and Laurie to 6 is just loose rumours. No truth to it apparently.

I think Staines may get a wing spot.

@garry woukd be happy if Staines took Nofoaluma's spot
I think Tupou may finish the year on a wing as well.

@avocadoontoast you think Nathan Brown plays 13
Not necessarily, I just don’t see the point of getting our best number 7 to defend in the middle. I don’t think his body will hold up the whole season.
@avocadoontoast that is a concern defensively, think he can ball play in the middle pretty well for us gives us a 6 either side of ruck and 3 points of attack.
Agree we need some middle forwards though
Sounds like Sheens is very busy at the moment. That's great. Our No 1 priority should be to get a punishing 'enforcer' middle forward. It's promising that Klemmer visited the C of E recently. He's only 28. Worth the risk. I hope WT get him either outright or as a swap with Brooks ( if Brooks wants to still go and Sheens is happy for Brooks to go). Second priority is to get certainty in our halves situation. Keep chasing Munster and Moses. Nov 1 is only 4 weeks away. By then surely WT will know if one of them is coming. If one of them is signed up then Hastings,Brooks ( if he stays) as halves to link with whoever comes to us and Douehi to provide halves back up( main position as a Centre) . If Brooks goes then Hastings,Douehi to partner Munster or Moses. If Munster & Moses won't come then Hastings to half with Brooks (if he stays with us)and Douehi ( he'll come good) and chase Nathan Brown or rely on Papalii, Blore, Pole, Seyfarth and maybe Nu Brown ( if he stays with WT) as 2nd rowers/Lock. If Leniu is interested then most certainly worth chasing him but I doubt he'll choose WT over the more elite clubs if the Panthers let him go. Naden Douehi To'a Kepaoa in Centres. Sounds like Staines is coming. If so, good. Primarily on the wing but also as fill in/replacement for Laurie at FB. That brings up Nofa. I haven't read or heard anything official to confirm he's not with WT next season. If he's staying then he competes with Staines,Maumolo,To'a,Tupou for WT wing positions. If he goes WT still has Staines , Maumalo To'a Tupou as wingers. That's enough. So many permutations. So much can happen. I trust that Sheens has a handle on all this. It's alot. Go Tim!!
I think Sheens is a chance to come back from England with couple of signatures on contracts for next year.
If one is Bateman then there is your 13 as Sheens is keen to have a mobile creative ball playing toughie in that position.
For me Hastings is a definite 7 if thats how it pans out and then the question is does Brooks stay as running 6 or he leaves and we land either Munster or Moses for 2024. Either scenario works for me but really hope that Sheens confidence in Batemans ability to regain his Canberra form eventuates.
Missing pieces in this jigsaw puzzle are a quality quality fullback (although Laurie or Stains may show some form to change that) front row (may be Klemmer) and solid back row partner for Paps (Blore or Brown if we sign him may be the answer??).
Kent on 360:
Sheens going to World Cup, meeting Bateman.
Club aiming to land both Klemmer and Bateman.

And who is the no.7 that is better than Hastings?

Hastings will not be playing 7 unless injuries hit.
