If we sign Munster I will eat my car. Never going to happen in a billion years.
😂
As my first boss used to say, you can wish in one hand and poop in the other an see which one fills up first.
While he currently has a deal in front of him at the Storm worth $2.4 million across three years, SEN’s Michelle Bishop says the club is facing a battle to retain his services with the Dolphins set to table a monster offer.
“The Storm are now facing a battle to retain him,” Bishop said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.
“It looks like now that he’s going to hit the open market on November 1 and the dollars that are being tossed up to secure him by other clubs is mouth-watering stuff.
“He’s apparently rejected a three-year extension worth $800,000 a season at Melbourne.
“The Dolphins, they’re tossing up a deal worth $5.2 million over four years, so that’s what, $1.3 million a year.”
$800K a year for Munster is insulting. Close to the best player in the world right now whilst you have a number of lesser players on >$1M
Ok hear me out: if the storm would like Douhie that puts the tigers in the box seat to sign Munster. We could sign Munster for 2024 and offer Douhie to the storm in a switch to bring forward Munster to 2023. That will allow us to start paying big dollars to Munster in 2023 whereas the dolphins will not be able to offer anything in a trade with the storm. This means Munster gets the benefit of the higher contract starting in 23 rather than 24 and we are able to effectively pay more for Munster than the dolphins can offer (over the life of the contract). It also means if we are doing it as a switch that the incremental impact on the cap is only the difference in contract value (eg an incremental 600k).
Daily Telegraph: Melbourne tried and failed to get Adam Doueihi on loan on August 1 but don’t be surprised if they come back for the Wests Tigers star on a more permanent basis should Cameron Munster opt to sign with the Dolphins after November 1.
The Storm’s priority is to keep Munster and they won’t rest while there is still hope that he could stay. However, if the Queensland and Australian superstar elects to leave, the Storm will need to explore their options and Doueihi is likely to be at the top of the list alongside Canterbury star Matt Burton.
Doueihi’s contract mirrors that of Munster — he is off contract at the end of next season. The lure of Melbourne might be too much to resist for Doueihi given how tempted he was to join the club when the offer of a loan came up a few weeks ago.
The Tigers ultimately prevented Doueihi helping Melbourne in the lead-up to the finals - David Nofoaluma joined the Storm instead.
@tigertownsfs the sad thing is we’ll probs lose AD and be left with nobody while he goes away and wins a comp at 6.
@declan we have Madden and Brooks and Hastings.
if we lose douhie we can recover, if we lose douhie and Brooks or douhie and Hastings we are in trouble
likewise if we lose Brooks and keep douhie and Hastings we are all good.
key is we can't lose all three
@jedi-tiger I don’t see any articles saying the storm will go hard for Luke Brooks lol
@declan they have Hughes
look back to 2018 Bellamy wanted Brooks Cameron Smith on SEN confirmed it the other week on captains run with Denman kemp
AD is a poor buy as a 6 as a centrenot a bad option

Because Brooks was very good in 2018. He isn’t the player he used to be.
@avocadoontoast with sheens coaching he will be
Some fans actually thought
7. Madden
6. Douhie
was a good option for wests tigers for 2023 lol haha
Maybe good for Western Suburbs Magpies halves pairing but not NRL
