It creates a lot of depth and injury coverage so that lifts the floor on what our performances can deliver over the long season. I can imagine a Skelton might be able to transform himself into edge or middle if he can’t find a role on the wing.

What's his salary currently? Would free up some cap space I guess

400,000. makes total sense given we just signed 2 young back rowers over the past couple of weeks.

100%. He’s wholehearted but just not effective enough at this point in his career. I wish him the best.

He gives me Chris Lawrence vibes. Quite a versatile, smart footy player who had a high ceiling in his prime, but has come back to the pack in recent seasons despite giving his all. If he had spent a few more years with us earlier in his career, this news would have hurt more but realistically it’s a good call with our recent signings.

Tim Johannssen is playing amazing football, just look at his stats. We should be pulling out all the stops to bring him back to the club.

Absolutely bizarre to have let him leave. We had him locked up long term as well from memory?

I’m assuming he had a falling out with the coaching staff. Won’t be back.

I hope the coaching staff recognise that it was their errors that led to Hunt’s mid season slump and that the team is overall better balanced and more successful if we just play him in his role. Upgrade on him if you can but he is not Payne Haas and never will be. He is a 20-25min player who allows you to play some shape with his PCM and quick play the balls. He is one of the few props who can change the momentum with his attack/hit ups and so you need to know when to use him. Terrell is the minutes guy so that allows you to pair him with a player like Hunt who can’t give you those minutes. It’s no surprise that the first 10 and last 5 rounds have been our best. We need to keep this rotation until the years end and reassess. Even if we find a better impact prop then we can have Hunt play the same role in NSW cup, ready to step up if form or injury makes that role open in the NRL squad. That is what a system team needs.

Very good stats, I wonder why he hasn’t had a shot at NRL at Souths?
