We’d all be guessing as to the amount we have left in the Cap for next year. But we did retire Olam this year ($500,000), let go Klemmer so half of his $700,000 could’ve been used for front loading this year, Galvin released ($350,000 next year I think), TDS similar ($350,000). I might’ve missed someone and these amounts approximations. But we didn’t bring anyone in so I’d think a large portion used to front load contracts this year. Given KPP & Geyer would take up about $800,000 & AD upgrade another $100,000. The Cap also increases by about $100,000 next year too. However Taylan needs signing so might knock about $300,000-$400,000 off that. I’m guessing somewhere between $500,000-$700,000 if Taylan is re-signed.Do we still have a "warchest"? @russtutty63 I don’t think Taylan would be on 500+. The guy just came back from the abyss. My guess is he will get a 2y deal on something below 500 and he could be upgraded this time next year if he stays out of trouble and performs well.
remember we offered Stef and Galvin 850+ deals and there would have been plans to upgrade TDS in the cap so there must be some decent room left. We don’t really need to save space for marquee spine positions (Bula is already on good going but might need a 100-200k top up) so we really should be maxing out our cap over this offseason so that we are the most competitive next year being the most inportant year for Benji.

Wests tigers faithful podcast reported that the tigers have $1m left in their 2026 cap.
We currently have 28 rosters spots confirmed with the need to re sign Taylan which I’m guessing would be about 350-400k given what Turuva is in which gives 600-650 for last 2 roster spots. Min wage is about 150k so max we have 500k for a top 17 quality prop. It’s possible but we’d have to get lucky and perhaps it won’t be a starting quality prop unless we pick up a kid like Crosby who has a breakout pre season.

Going to be incredible competition to get a start in the 1st grade team in a few positions. This not only creates depth in the club, but players having to compete with each other, work harder and outshine others in order to get a spot.
