KPP announced a Wests Tiger from 2026 (unfortunately, would love for him to come over straight away but that kind of deal seems a one-way street at present)

Interesting wording in the announcement I might be reading too much into it....or maybe I'm desperate to have some troops this year however when you compare his announcement to Turuvas they have not really ruled out him coming early:

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that Kai Pearce-Paul will join the club ahead of the 2026 season on a three-year deal.

Turuva:

The 21-year-old, who was NRL Rookie of the Year last season, will link up with Wests Tigers at the end of the 2024 season.

😉

It is positive that the club identifies weaknesses and recruits for them. Skelton and Turuva, KPP now. It gives me confidence that we will get a lock for next year and we will recruit a 7 if the Latu project doesn’t work. We could clearly do with another prop (maybe this Raiders kid is that) and another centre option would t go astray. The point being that Benji and Richo are being methodical about it and have recruited well. With the kids coming through (Luke, Kit, TDS, Makasini etc) we have a chance to have a stable and capable team with depth and talent coming through.

Agreed. I think priorities are lock and prop. (hypothetically) adding in a metre-eater James Fisher-Harris type prop and a creative/impactful lock (obviously a Yeo type), and this team goes to another level.

I'm not in a rush to buy a half, I think we have to make what we have work.

Second row is now sorted, lock, prop and centre to go, Plus need to work out what we are doing in the halves.

halves I assume we are going to play Latu and Luai for the remainder of the season with Heath at 14 or to sub into 6 if Latu breaks down again. The giant issue with the halves is that Luai is NOT A 7! We have spent 15 years without a 7 when it is the most important position on the field. Luai is great for team attitude, great defensively, smart and holds everyone to account. He is a worthwhile marquee half but that doesn’t mean we have to play him at 7. I have some confidence that Benji knows this and that we will start to see this structure in the back end of the year.

@garry I think May should be our lock and we go hard for 2 props . It’s really only a jersey

KPP a good signing but there is still plenty to be sorted. Luai, Mason, Fainu who is the best combo? DoesSam move back to prop? Who to buy at left centre? Do we need another Prop and Second Row? Who is the best option at Lock?
spome players I would be looking at are -

NAS (Storm to chip in)

D Fifita ( Titans to chip in)

G Anderson

C Jenson

D Mariner

T H Tapuha

L Vaalepeu

T Thompson
