[Sticky] Wests Tigers Signings and Rumoured Signings

It’s criminal how poor our roster management is. We are breaking our new recruits making them play with such thin depth. I would like to know when we last played with a full roster and have spent our full cap on the current year rather than prepaying future salaries. We have spooned for 3 years and now we are fading hard and at serious risk of a 4th spoon. It’s critical that we finish mid table to give Benji some space to coach and Richo some capacity to recruit.

Couldn't agree more

This is true but its also true that when WT lose matches fans look for quick fixes. From a big picture perspective we did really well to get GOOD signings through the door last summer. All the new players have made positive contributions. It's going to take another offseason (at least) to right the wrongs of the previous regime.

We need clubs like Newcastle to be eliminated from contention before June 30 and/or have their coach sacked. Until this happens other clubs are not going to shed players.

The other only scenario is that Richo announces a 2026 signing from another club and then that players current club agrees to release them early.

I still hold hope that we can bring in 3 players to make us better in 2025. I don't accept the view held by some that there are no good players out there. We just have to wait another week or two.

From ‘All Things Wests Tigers’ on Facebook:

Taylan May Update 🐯🔥

Hearing some interesting whispers from people in the know — three clubs are currently in the race for Taylan May’s signature: South Sydney Rabbitohs, Wests Tigers, and a Super League side.

It’s no secret that Taylan’s preference is to link up with his brother Terrell May at the Wests Tigers. The family connection and opportunity to be part of something special here is a big drawcard.

The delay, I’m told, stems from Shane Richardson wanting to be absolutely sure Taylan is ready for an NRL return — not just physically, but mentally as well. He’s been made to jump through a few hoops as part of that process, which shows the club is doing its due diligence to protect both Taylan and the team.

The good news? We’re still very much in the mix. The door is open, and if all goes well, we could see both May brothers wearing the Tigers jersey in the near future. Stay tuned! 👀🐅

I feel like there has been enough hoop jumping. Reality is that this would be a 6 month T&T contract with strict behavioural clauses. It should not be a top 30 contract.

If Taylan joins the club and behaves himself in 2025 then a 2026 contract might be available to him.

We need props and edge forwards with the remaining top 30 places for 2025 - this must be the priority.

Are we now at 26 or 27 players?

Contract list says 27 players, 3 spots available.

Maybe now the LG thread is closed this topic is off limits but I watched the Danny Weidler interview on 100% Footy last night and it was so scripted and sanitised that it did nothing to unveil truth. There was even a statement that offered a third date/time that Gus and Lachie first met? They even tried to make us believe that the Dogs didn't know the interview was happening? 🤢

Gus/Galvin Lie-a -thon

Out of Gus’s mouth on 100% footy + 6 tackles SAID

You don't realise how big he is until you meet him (but says never met Galvin)

The only thing I told him was he should be concentrating at his age on developing his football (but says never spoken to Galvin)

not word for word but close enough

Both available if any one wanted to investigate/confirm and more tha a week /month before the release of Galvin

I did not watch the interview, however pretty hard to miss some of the snippets as they are all over the place. I cant (can) believe how staged it was, even the dramatic background music.

I have always thought he was a bit simple and the interview only reinforces it. he was gushing in his praise of the coaching staff and his new team mates, has he been secretly training with them for the last 3 months? How the hell would you know how great they are after 2 days?

The interview was a way to clean his profile after he heaped shit on his coach who backed him and developed him into a first grader and his team mates that adjusted their games around him to make him look good, went legal on his employer and shit on the WT supporters. The fact that he blatantly lied about never meeting Gus just reinforces how much of a low life he really is.

Storm veteran linked with surprise move to rival club - NRL News - Zero Tackle

So madge told all his players he wants to keep them and even blocked Hetherington from joining us. Now he has gone and purchased Anderson from the storm and is enquiring about Kamikamica, he is really taking the piss. Surely Staggs and/or cobbo are gone and Willeson/hetherington etc.. would be at risk.

Methinks there will be some very pissed off players up north. Richo needs to get on a plane and head up there, park himself at a cafe in red hill.

So strange that Kamakamica isn’t on our radar. I wouldn’t imagine the broncos have very little cap space to recruit fur this year. A storm prop is exactly what we need

We’re apparently on the verge of signing KPP for $500,000 a year.
