Something that is overlooked is that perpetually playing below the salary cap with roster spots unfilled is demotivating for the players with have in the starting 17. Having sub standard reserves makes their efforts harder to maintain

Pahulu from Titans to Storm immediate release. Surely the Storm can’t keep them all. I suspect Lisati might come to us mid year & Kamikamica a possible recruit next year.

Great suggestion. Lisati would fill an immediate need. I hope you’re right.

Has been named on Storm extended bench last few games but doesn’t get a run. How would he feel knowing he could be getting a better opportunity elsewhere if other teams interested in him? Not saying he’d be the answer but he could be a guy who makes the most of an opportunity if it comes his way.

So important that we’re competitive in this game.

I’m pretty confident we will be. I expect Romey, Api, Terrell, Tito, Royce, Jack Bird etc to all lead from the front and the others do a solid job, no more, no less.

If you look at the main areas of need for Wests Tigers right now then who do you target? If it’s an edge backrower, a middle & a centre what are our options if we have approx a million or so to spend?

Here’s a list of possibilities off contract now & end of 2026:

Payne Haas

Staggs

Cobbo

Suluka-Fifita

Curran

Kikau

Morrin

Sam Hughes

Hosking

Mariota

McInness

Iro

Talakai

Lemuelu

Farnworth

Fermor

Fifita

Garrick

Koula

Blore

Kamikamica

Wishart

KPP

Hetherington

Neame

Purdue

O’donnell

Lindsay Smith

Liam Henry

Luke Garner

Sua

Koloamatangi

Which of these would be the biggest difference makers and would you go all in for just one or two?

I think I’d bring in Kamikamica or Hetherington & KPP next year and have a crack at Farnworth or Staggs for 2027.

Or bring in KPP next year (I’m assuming it’s almost done), maybe a bloke like Hassett or Litasi & I’d have a huge crack at Farnworth, Koloamatangi or Haas for 2027.

I’d love to see Reynolds (one year) KPP & maybe Kamikamica (one or two years) next season. Would make a huge difference to us.

I’m completely the opposite.. I know the way this team plays before a bye, never beats a team twice in a season. Most importantly play after a bye. Things haven’t changed with this mob. Could be proven wrong, but doubt it.

1. Tigers not matching the Dolphins offer ended up being a good call 2. Would take him back in a heartbeat if the Dolphins chipped in

I’d take him for sure. Big body and we would get him on minimum after the dolphins kick in a bit. Unfortunately Staines is too small for NRL so we need to bring in some more coverage that fits in to the style of game we want to play. No brainer.

Interesting that some clubs extending good, young players past 2027 so taking the 2 new clubs out of any contract discussions the next 18 months. We currently have 8 players contracted 2027 or longer, most clubs have more, one has less. I’d think Jahream is the priority but obviously a few others extending would be good too. Difficult because the salary cap could increase substantially in a few years. A million dollar contract now is approx 8.5% of the cap now but should the Cap increase to 15 million in 2028 for example that same deal would be approx 6.5% of the cap. Could get around it with ratchet clauses but could cap that too. Should imagine player managers would be feeling good about it all. I wonder if it’s too late to study a Sports & Business Management course.
