AD at 6 last year, in lasts years team
Vs
AD at 6 playing in this year's team with Hastings
Can't be compared.
Hastings completely changes things
Plus I would think AD has been learning while injured.
Hopefully we get a chance to experiment this year with AD at 6 and 13.
As we need to make some major decisions on our spine and our future signings

Hastings doesn't change the issues I have with AD at 6, only coaching and Ad himself can change those. In saying that I would also like to see him get some time at 6 to see if he has improved these aspects.

We don't know if he has or hadn't had that coaching, because he hasn't played yet.
But Hastings would change it, bc Hastings makes the calls for the whole set. He'd be essentially on on field coach for AD.

Hasting is a very directive half, but no halfback is controlling enough where they are deciding when their partner is running on passing. These are not premeditated decisions, these decisions based on cues you see in the defensive line. Unless Jacko has a PS5 controller up his sleeve.

@garry Hastings can create more opportunity on the outside for Doueihi which gives him more options.

And at times he needs to learn when to give those opportunities to someone else. I am not trying to be critical and I want him to get a crack at 6 at some point, he just has some things he needs to improve.

It is up there with Josh Reynolds as the worst signing the club has made.

You can thank our Chair Lee for that.

You can add Brooks on a million plus for next year onto that list.
One of Sheens early statements was that our cap was not in as good shape as people thought and you can look at these two deals as a big part of the reason why.

$1.3m on your halves is pretty good going. :p

Wests Tigers don't seem to mind paying Doueihi upwards of 600K to sit in the stands..
Blore's entire contract just about has been on the sidelines if we are going down the ROI road..
it's all relative.. market decides a players worth.. A player's worth is what a Club is prepared to pay..
No one apart from the Club, Player and player manager knows how anyone's contract is structured..

As far as Brooks’s 1.1million next year I think there’s a fair bit of journalistic license taken there.Everyone ran with the story and it has become the accepted narrative.Where lies the truth?especially after the rampant bs that was written about him and Newcastle.
In Noffa’s case perhaps we’re paying slight overs but he is still a tackle breaking, hard running, quality winger with safe hands and a proven finisher. If Noffa did go on the open market I realistically wouldn’t see you getting much change out of 450-500 anyway. He was brilliant in 2020 DallyM winger, down last year, but has played very well this year.
Noffa has been an integral part of WTs for the best part of a decade, and to equate him with Josh Reynolds as the worst signing the club has made is either malicious or myopic,or both.
Brooks salary keeps increasing substantially thanks to nrl360 and journalists like Rothfield first it's 700k the 850k then 1 million they wouldn't know.

I don’t know about that. Until this year Noffa’s defence has been a major liability. He wasn’t worth anywhere near $500K.
This year he has more respect for the centres inside of him and stayed mainly on his opposite number. Much better defensive effort this year but still not worth $500K or a long term contract for that matter.
Noffa’s last contract definitely should be included in Top 5 infamous moments in Wests Tigers history with Lee’s involvement. It directly unbalances the salary cap, yet again.
