@tiger5150 AD can play 1 3 6 13 all well but not outstanding I reckon, he is the perfect 14 but you obviously don't pay that money for a 14

What about a spine of:

9. Api

7. Hastings

6. Brooks

1. AD

AD is too slow at fullback, I don't want him to play fullback again.

@jedi-tiger AD is a very dangerous runner of the ball and nowhere near as slow as people make out. In my opinion he also has a far better passing and kicking game than brooks.

AD was able to play well last year at 6 with Brooks at 7. Imagine how he’ll play next to a quality 7 like Hastings.

AD still has an awful lot to work on as a 6.

@mac_tiger could we not use douhies money and go after Burton ?

play Burton at 1

spine of

9. Api

7. Hastings

6. Brooks

1. Burton

You could do that but we already have Adam and I think Burton is turning into a mercenary (to be fair maybe he's recognised he made a dumb choice going to the Dogs). I wouldn't be changing for the reasons Avo points out and he's more of a reliable goal kicker than Jacko. I just hope that Jacko and Adam can work together because both are dominant leaders, so you need to find them the prominent positions.

Pain in the hass for 1.2m immediately? Any takers?

I normally laugh when people write we don't need him for a quality footballer...but that is stupid.

Brooks has much more work to do, and he’s already had 9 years to work on his game. AD has huge talent and massive upside and has the potential to be an outstanding player.  Brooks will never be an outstanding player, even though he’s on outstanding money.

I wasn't talking about Brooks though,  AD needs to learn when and how to play early. This will make him a much more dangerous player and allow him to improve the game of the players around him. Until he does that he is a better centre than 5/8th, it is why I would have loved him to get the preseason.

For sure, I was responding generally to people  arguing for Brooks over AD. AD has work to do but I’ve seen enough to think he can be a top spine player. We should be putting everything we’ve got into him to be our long term 6.

Roosters said to be interested in Haas. Wonder if that puts pressure on Chrichton to make a decision or Rorters chip in a bit for him to play with someone else.

For the money he wants No!
we need a second row and centres which we could get at the same price as he is asking. For that amount of of money you need to be able to swing a game by yourself not just gain metres and play the ball fast

You’d think the way Haas has handled this, or his manager, someone else (another club) is offering him a well -paid plan B.

Thinking Hass could become problematic for any club. Seems to have a poor attitude. Hope it doesn’t end up with him not reaching his potential

Haas would be great for us but I can’t see it happening. His go forward will take Brooks’ running game to the next level, and allow Hastings to create more opportunities. Bring the two Crichtons as well.  Now, where’s my sombrero??

Agreed. IMO AD is not a half. He plays EVERY play as THE play whereas good halves will spend 3 or 4 sets setting up THE play (out the back, out the back, out the back...>short). Every play with AD is a try scoring opportunity and it doesnt work unless we are inside the 10.
