Unfortunately the best way to monetise Galvin is to create a scenario to keep him playing in 2026 for the tigers so that it is not a forgone conclusion he can leave whenever he wants. You need to have the option of keeping him in the 17 and making him contribute. That would be a master stroke if Benji was able to convince him to play 13 and make a go of it. In all reality though he will just stink it up and we will end up releasing him. If he goes to the dogs we should ask for Crichton or Burton to play centre, if he goes to roosters, Lenui, manly Koola, eels I don’t want any of their players, knights Bradman best. The whole league is hyped on Galvin and you sell your soul for a generational half (if that’s what he is). All these teams desperately need a half

On the plus side we now have at least a $1M warchest and a bargaining chip in being able to trade/release daddy's little man.  Upgrade and extend TDS should be priority 1. Ask Bula what it would take to get him to ditch Moses and see what he says.

I am curious as to what the Fainu boys think about all this, with Galvin being the golden child ahead of Latu, who was signed to play 6. I could see some animosity there. We need to keep them happy.

Frustrated Wests Tigers players reportedly may want Lachlan Galvin released early and potential long-term half Latu Fainu brought into the side to put the club and its future first.

Not sure, but you’d think a broken thumb would be at least a month.

It’s clearly Moses using maximum pressure to get Galvin out of the club asap, including this year if he can manage it. Benji is a rookie coach and Moses has identified that attacking Benji as the problem rather than Moses wanting to stack a club of his coach clients is the best way to get what he wants. The manager is your employee, it’s no excuse to say that you have nothing to do with the dirty tricks, if I acted in an unprofessional at work my employer may have its reputation ruined. Lachie and his family hired Moses knowing full well who he was and how he operated. Galvin will be the most hated player in the league by tigers fans for the next 15 years. I will boo him if he runs out in our colours next weekend and I hope the rest of the stadium boos him. We are on the up this season and to borrow a phrase if you are not on the bus then you can get lost. I don’t care about the bloke, all decisions by the club have to be in order to maximise the success of the club. We honestly should just let him sit out until 2027 as it would be better for us if he is playing poorly when he arrives at our competitor. Pay him his $300k and try and sabotage him for his next club.

Him sitting out won’t help us. We could play him in Cup until a swap which suits both parties comes along. Other clubs will come to us wanting to swap players as the season moves on. We can be patient and wait for the right one.

Agree with both points made here.

The club has done the right thing by bringing this to a head this week. He should play cup for the foreseeable future I have no problem with that. Isaac can go to work organising a player swap to get Galvin out of the situation he has created.

I am pleased that WT is not going to roll over meekly like we did last time Isaac took the Big 4 elsewhere.

I would personally favour a Haumole for Galvin swap. He is very tight with the Fainu's as per this video for the Samuela debut jersey presentation

Galvin is a great player but clearly a bad influence. Him on his own is not worth us risking the potential loss of all Fainu brothers. I'm not sure I would have said that a month ago but wow Sione has really come on this season and Latu just has not got his chance yet.

No one individual is bigger than the team.

There is no way a 19 year old is bagging a coach, it's the adults in the room, who don't really know anything about the game. Has any one advising Galvin played NRL? Don't give us this bullshit that it's the coach, maybe it's the assistant coaches, but it's not the coach. Benji is doing the exact same role that Wayne Bennet has been doing for decades; man management (as Tallis identified tonight on 360). We need to to a Politis, wipe any players from the Moses stable, I don't care how good they are. Never have anything to do with that c&*t ever again.

Just another way the Tigers season can be derailed.... a couple of years ago, we showed form, then they get rid of Joffa.... just shithouse.

Bula is a Moses client

Oh well..... get Moses out of the club. Works for the Roosters.

the manager works for the player, Phoenix godinet signed with tigers no issue about benji coaching

the family pushed for a release as soon as luai and sulluvan were signed along with latu fainu

using moses is a cop out, if Galvin wanted to stay a tiger he would have this is in Galvin and his family

Galvin does not come across as the sharpest tool in the shed when being interviewed, so I can see how he may be led down a certain path, perhaps he takes after his old man and they have badly misread the room and also eaten up all the crap they have been fed by player agents, media pundits etc. Good luck to them, everyone talking about him as a generational talent, I'm 100% confident that Katoa and Sam Walker are miles ahead of him, however the way people go on about Galvin it's like the second coming of Joey.

Pretty sure this is verbatim of the uncle Gus conversation with Galvin as outlined on 100 % footy

Just coincidence of course

““I just feel that as I move into an important period of my development as a half, that I continue to build my game at a different club…,”

Someone has got in his ear and found a way to convince him that he’s better off knifing his mates.

Those words confirm that he doesn't trust Benji to coach him. A 19yo, his dad and agent don't think that an absolute legend of the game in the position that the 19yo plays can teach him to play that position and he has the ego to tell the world that.

Get him away from the playing group. Play him in park footy until another club gives us someone great as a trade.

Maybe it's all him and that's his personality, maybe he is just a D head and as supporters we dressed him in the white amour and stuck him on a horse. I'm pretty sure he is burning bridges and ppl like Critta at the Dogs and Olakuato at Manly who are both very close to WT players will not really welcome him with open arms. My mates who are dogs supporters don't want him at their club.... want an organizing half with Burton.

I made a comment in a post a few weeks ago that the halves market may look very different in 12 months, I keep hearing about gun kids coming through the grades who are 12-24 months away, much more than I have for years now. He may have been smarter locking in that $1m per year.

Honestly the best thing the club can do is burn is 300k salary for the next 18months and sit him in Flegg or cup. This will be the only way we ever create a deterrent to the manager to perform this type of approach.  No other club has to deal with us, I could name 10 players who have dogged out of contracts at our club who would never consider the same to a roosters or Brisbane. The beauty of this situation is that he costs us virtually nothing, 2.5% of the salary cap in 2026. That is an absolute steal to make sure that no manager will ever pull this crap again on our club. It’s an incredible opportunity. I don’t want a player in exchange, they are never going to give us their best players, other clubs will only offer players that they are ok to lose, they will never offer a Crichton or an Olakuatu. They will give us an average centre or 2RF. Sit this potato in flegg for 2 years. It has to be done, we have plenty of cap space and roster spots, we don’t need to anything from Galvin. He should literally train with the kids and not get the advantage of all the NRL coaching setup, it’s probably where he would be playing if he wasn’t playing for th Tigers anyway.
