@skippa13 I agree an additional brut force forward is required , IMO this is a piece of the  puzzle that needs to be addressed . When a quality player is on the market in a position that needs filling the catch 22 raises it’s head ,at this stage a forward is more important but a signing of a high quality back is also needed. Over to you Richo!

I would suggest we most likely have the dollars, and I know we have the spot, for that forward - they just need to be available.

@helmesy The heat needs to be taken out of everything Galvin he is a 19 yr old kid finding his feet . He certainly is not at this stage worth anywhere near the money that is being thrown around . It’s all hype and manufactured by media gooses a manager and a certain club CEO.The kid can play no doubt but it’s very early days , the club needs to be careful not to be sucked into the Moses/ Galvin vortex . I am not on the Galvin band wagon have seen this hype over 19 year olds all before , you do not screw you salary cap on a young untried and he is untried !

Taylan is a good player, certainly good enough for our top17 if he plays to his panthers quality. Terrell is our best FRF in a decade or more and he is Taylans older brother from a tight family. Let’s not over think this. Look what Sione has done with the motivation to play with his brothers

If we do sign him he would have to come through Cup first unless Star or AD’s form drops. And that would be another positive to sign him, real competition for those outside backs positions.
In terms of forwards who might be available right now Ativalu Lisati at the Storm is someone that could be looked at. Just turned 24, was picked up from the Panthers system last year but stuck behind some very good forwards down there. He’s off contract after this year. Have to admit to not seeing him play but would come out of 2 great, successful systems & wouldn’t take up a great deal of cap space. And the Storm must’ve had an opinion of him. That’s an option. Another option is to look at picking up Kamikamica for next 2 seasons as he’s off contract as well. And maybe look at further developing Sukkar & possibly Sione (next off season) to back up what we have now as not many classy edges on the market anyway.

An upgrade on the edge should be a non negotiable for next season.

If there was an upgrade available I’d agree but unless you know of one then maybe we have to go about it another way.  Benji & Richo might have a target but I can only go on what is out there now & who we could target with what cap space we might have. Hetherington is a possibility but I can’t see it as he would’ve come this year if keen to leave Broncs.

There is no other way, we are far too weak in the backrow and Richo and Benji need to find an upgrade. We simply cannot go into next season with the current options in the backrow.

I wonder if there is a trade where Frizell is let go in order to accomodate Brown mid season. Would give some time to find a younger 2RF prospect. Frizell would be great in our right hand side channel

I think we dodged a bullet, missing out on Horsburgh, penalty prone.

I like it, Frizzell would be ideal of 25 and 26.

I totally agree. We already have one penalty prone red head, Alex Seyfarth.

@tgrzmn I actually think Alex has cleaned his act up on discipline, the late penalty was not his fault just making a tackle unfortunate.

That last penalty was a joke, and on the 5th tackle. Alex was basically holding his ground and Klostad falls into his shoulder and hits it with his chin. Absolutely no force from Alex, there really should be some discretion when a penalty like that decides a game. You could probably find over 100 tackles a game where a falling player contacts the defender with their head. And that tackle where latu went low and braced for impact is ridiculous....again, happened at the end of a tight game where Warriors were basically throwing themselves kamikaze style at our defensive line, you are going to have bodies flying all over the place looking very dramatic 2 ref calls that really cost us the game. Brave fight by the WT to keep it close, Warriors came to play and they were very physical, this is the kind of team we will struggle to beat this season, big body 1 - 5 and forward pack, will just overwhelm us, especially on a wet track where it is difficult to run them around and tire them out.

Five year contract offered reported for Galvin. One million dollars per year.

Will he sign it? Not sure.
