I think Galvin & Family will be waiting to see how we go in the first half of the year before he commits to an extension. Roosters are a bit of a mess at the moment, Dogs may have 2nd year syndrome and panthers wouldn't be able to afford him and I see those as the most likely clubs to have a crack or that he may be interested in. I know if I were him or advising him, I would not be putting pen to paper just yet.... there is no real urgency to do it other than a financial hit for a few extra months...he could probably get the upgrade as a lump sum paid retrospectively for the whole season even if he signs in August. I don't think the club is tight on salary cap space this year.

galvin has asked for a release once before already, he is a parramatta junior and if brown leaves they will make a play for him to go back and partner Moses.

I'm a lifelong Tigers supporter and probably would have asked for a release after the shitshow of the last 4 years. Who knows what was going on behind the scenes and whilst not wanting to kick off conspiracy theories perhaps there was an issue between him and bateman or another individual...at 18 yrs old you have not yet developed a great deal of resiliency or maturity, so it does not take much to throw you off balance. Maybe what was concerning him, and his family has now been addressed. I have noticed more comradery and positivity in the trial games and the training videos I have seen. I’m pessimistic on Galvin re-signing because he has the ability to earn more for the next 2 years by extending so it’s telling that he hasn’t. If I’m wrong and we get something like a 2 year extension then we are in a great position to develop a squad that is durably a top 8 team and I hope it happens
If he has not signed by July/August than I think he tests the market or has already decided to leave. I think for Galvin it’s not just money it’s the environment. If we see administration turmoil continue then he’ll consider other destinations.
The good news is that with the independent board members (separation from HBG) and with Richo in place we’re hopefully in a good, settled position now.
