@helmesy The Weststigers is the club that keeps giving … I suppose if his ego is bigger than what he can produce after two seasons it works out ! A bit disappointing that Richo was that desperate it puts the Galvin issue in a new light .. never a dull moment with this club ! Actually I am off him now just came for the money nothing else ..
I don’t see any reasons to slash my wrists 🙀😱over this bit of information provided by a SMH news hack on a slow news night .…..
But the way I look at it is that if he can’t get us to fire in first two years of this contract then he will be of very little value at reported $1.2m per season …. just burning a huge hole in our salary cap.
But I suppose that’s just me 🤔
It’s just business ….. club that is in our position on the ladder does not exactly have the luxury of being too choosy when it comes to contract negotiations with high profile players.
Just have to suck it up and enjoy the short term benefits while they lasts. IF they eventuate 🫣
I actually don't really care too much about the options in yr 3, we are the 3x wooden spooners trying to sign a Marquee player at a time when our roster was really shit, so richo had to be creative. I would argue that the signature has delivered us a few really good players that would not have come otherwise. if he cant deliver in the next 2 years than his value will drop below what we are paying him so I doubt he goes elsewhere for more coin. Either way if things do not significantly improve in the next 2 years he aint the only one exercising their option to walk away from this club.
When Laui signed we had not signed anyone and can understand why they added this from his side.
TBF to the club if we needed to add this to get it done, I have no problems as our whole club has gone into overdrive since then.
once Laui had signed we have done some amazing recruitment and if we didn't have him I
m positive we done get most of them here.
Also with the new TV deal coming into effect 2028 he can re-neg a new contract for higher if he and the team are playing well.
Balls in his court now and when he is made Captain or Co Capt he will do everything in his power to make it here long term. THIS WILL BE HIS TEAM and he knows it.
He helped get May over the line and he would be very impressed with what Richo / Benji have done this last 12 months.
I suspect someone is trying to destabilise the Wests Tigers. Whoever leaked the contract info needs to held to account.
As for the actual details, couldn’t give a rats. 2025 here we come…
Luai will be able to negotiate right when a PNG and possibly Perth side is coming in... great move wests tigers
as silly as the Stefano contract
Well, there's a lot of opinion expressed as facts here, many of which I struggle with; the club's in "overdrive", "amazing recruitment" (apart from Luai, who do you see as amazing? Surely not Turuva, Hunt, Bird or May?), Luai "impressed by Richo/Benji" over the last year?? Really?? How do you know that? When Laui signed we had not signed anyone and can understand why they added this from his side.

I just find it disappointing as I thought he was giving us an endorsement and wanted to be the cornerstone of a new Wests Tigers. Now feels a bit like he’s only half in.
In saying that I can understand why he hasn’t gone all in - look at the standard of management we’ve had in the past decade.
Still, a bit of an emotional blow.
Wests Tigers Podcast - Talking everything Wests Tigers!
Well, it's over to you Mr Marshall, Mr Morris and Mr Hodgson. The focus is now fairly and squarely on you!
The length of time that Luai, and I suspect, Galvin, stay as Tigers will come down to results in 2025. That seems pretty obvious now.
I think this is another big test for Richo.
If this is fake news Richo needs to come out strongly today and clarify the situation.
If this is true and he ducks and dives today then it’s not a good look.
I hope Richo can clarify the real position for us all so we don’t continue to feel deflated after so much positivity coming out of the club. 🤞
Interview with Luai today or yesterday at an event for westpac chopper rescue and he was very serious and bullish about achieving a 5th title at Wests Tigers.....I don't think he does anything by halves and I'm sure he is going to give 100%. I think the whole contract situation is really just smart business on his managers side, if he can get us into the top 4 in the next 2 years, I will happily hand over the keys to the new leagues club in Balmain when we renegotiate the 27 contract. Don't forget he signed this contract at a time of significant turmoil at the club. I would not question his commitment because of this clause....the fact he is joining the 3x wooden spoon team and putting his career at significant risk when he could have walked into any other club with a more established roster, coaching staff and back office should be enough to convince us that he is in for the crocodile roll.
@lorenzo I think we all agree Luai's contract conditions makes good business sense for both he and his manager. That Pascoe (allegedly) refused them, but Richardson accepted them without any disclosure of the complete story to members/fans (I assume Board etc knew) is troubling, IMO.
I wonder if Pepper Money were made aware that probably our most genuine "marquee" signing of the last decade can start negotiating a WT exit from 1 November next year, if he chooses?
I would take that commentary about Pascoe rejecting it with a pinch of salt, I'm sure he and Lee are not happy with the way Richo is turning the club around.@lorenzo I think we all agree Luai's contract conditions makes good business sense for both he and his manager. 100% emotional blow…we can’t make him captain now surely. The bigger problem would be with the leak to be honest.I just find it disappointing as I thought he was giving us an endorsement and wanted to be the cornerstone of a new Wests Tigers. Now feels a bit like he’s only half in.
