Yes, and was on the field yesterday for sponsor reveal.

this would imply Benji seems him in the starting 17

I’d say Benji has him penciled in on that right edge.

He is not a second rower for me, I would have him as bench prop.

I wonder if Johannsen could be a smoky for that right edge in the absence of Bateman? No idea if his defence would be up to it

He could be a bolter, I think he’s only train and trial though so he might not be an option unless spots are created.

Johanssen is a strange one with his Contract. not sure how reliable ZeroContract is but they have him down for no Contract for 2025 (assume Train & Trial) and then a Player option for 2026. Not sure how that would work.

Personally Ive seen enough of him to see some promise and hope.

Hopefully he can come through and show something but I don't really consider train and trial guys when looking at starters. I think Tim should remain on a train and trial deal next year and reassess after that.

He’d be awesome on the edge. Runs great lines.

Seyfarth does not have the lateral movement defensively to play on an edge, get caught out every time he plays there.

He can work in that. He will make a great edge forward

Its time to put him in a position and let him further develop I reckon.

He’s not a prototype prop. He has high work rate though, I could see him as a lock but his footy iq has been shown to let him down (ie look at all the penalties he gives away). At least as an edge he can play a somewhat simpler role

Both Alex & Samuela showed some positive signs in the edge, Samuela in particular although he did have more games in the position too. They struggled at times defensively but as both have been playing their careers in the middle it’s probably not surprising. As the club is now flush with middles & not so much edge backrowers, especially if JB goes, then Seyfarth is arguably the best option at present. And given he played the final 3 games of this year on the edge it’d seem that’s where they might see him playing. Unless JB stays or they can find another should he go then it’s probably the way to go. And Alex could improve just as we all envisage Samuela doing.

Alex did play 2nd row as a teenager & was picked for NSW u19s. He also was Flegg player of year where he played 2nd row & lock so he has some background on the edge. But last 5 years he’s played about 55-60 of his 72 games in the middle.
