Just bumped to Jerome luai. His in concord now was having coffee with Peter Mousa
Welcome to the forum Bennie, good positive first post
The names were always going to come out after it was noted by the press. A Melbourne player the press probably wouldn’t care but we are a team with poor standards and 5 players (all young ones) coming back to training having missed all their targets is newsworthy
Its really not, but for some misguided reason the Club decided to make it newsworthy. Players come back to preseason overweight every year at every club and they all go straight into "fat club" and get it flogged out of them. Has been happening as long as RL has existed.
I really think the Tigers have handled this incorrectly, looking for the smallest bit of clout and impacting the news around the club, as well as managers perceptions negatively.....for what? Just flog them (which would and should be happening anyway).

@helmesy I would assume so. He had what looked like a training bag with him. The walked into the offices together.
@tigertownsfs I agree that because its Wests Tigers it’s newsworthy and the media will eventually catch wind of it. I just believe the incident itself is newsworthy the names don’t have to “find” their way into the media.
@helmesy Just a fluff piece IMO! the proof will be in the pudding, The one alarming piece is Latu was one of them obviously the kid needs a rocket there seems to be a real attitude problem considering he hardly played last season due to hamstring issues . If he is lazy and has weight issues I see the hamstring issues becoming chronic .At this stage he seems not concerned as coming back to training underdone shows his attitude, I suppose when you are young and are being paid mega amounts of money for potential these things happen , if his attitude is such it will all be exposed pretty quickly!
@se-wt-rant Off course there names should be made public .. who do they think they are ! Latu especially is concerning with playing very few games last season one would think his attitude would be a little better .. as a member I do want to know who is putting in and who isn’t maybe these guys are not for the crocodile roll time will tell .

We have to drop this “we have a plan B if Galvin goes” talk. Latu has a tonne of catching up to do.

@snake these guys needed to be punished, which they have been or will be when they front the board but my point is a larger one than these guys. Leaking names to the media will do nothing but erode the confidence in management from the playing group and will have any new recruits thinking twice about coming to a club who leaks players names in order to shame them. In the short term it may motivate certain players and give members and fans the warm fuzzies to know we are NOW setting standards at the club and these are the blokes not putting in, however i doubt this is a good long term strategy for playing retention and recruitment.

strongly agree with you and Snake here. Latu was coddled last year due to his hamstring issues, and as talented as the kid is he hasn’t proven anything at first grade level. For him to show up underdone after the season he had last year is disgraceful and I agree with Snake that he must have an attitude problem. IMO He shouldn’t be in the discussion even as Galvins backup until he turns his attitude around and shows he can play consistently great footy at cup level again

Yep, but it could also just be ducks and drakes too.

100%. If you don’t back yourself to be a starter then you’re not the guy we want anyway.

@helmesy I think you’re probably right. Hard to imagine them signing a second string lock to a decent contract. I believe their cap isn’t it great shape either

You’d think that would be the case. I wonder if Madge is still so bitter and twisted that it’s about him and us, not the Broncos/Hetherington.
