Brisbane Broncos forward Kobe Hetherington is the latest target in Benji Marshall’s sights as he looks to finalise his roster for the 2025 season.
“The Tigers have been obviously chasing him pretty hard or next year – he’s sort of the last piece of the puzzle.” said Brent Read on Triple M’s Rush Hour.
Hetherington’s management is set to meet with Michael Maguire next week to iron out his future, and whether he has one at the Broncos.
“So the Tigers should have an answer from Kobe Hetherington at some point next week whether he will join them for the upcoming season.”

Not a big May fan at all but if price was ok, around $400,000, might be ok. I’d trust Luai in giving an opinion on him first, it’d want to be a very high opinion. I’d also look at Sione Mata’utia on a one or two year deal. Depends on Bateman situation & freeing up a couple of spots. But for 2026 would have a crack at a Sharks backrower & a Storm middle.

I would be very keen for May as long as his attitude is right, a guy that can easily play 50-60 mins with good impact and metres is the exact type of prop we need.
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
Valynce Te Whare is an interesting one, fitness an issue but when right goes ok. A risk but aren’t they all at about that value? In terms of 2026 targets plenty to consider, off the top of my head, Nikora, Wilton, Moale, Duncan, King, Kamakamica, Hetherington, Willison etc.

I want to sign Valynce Te Whare just so I can hear Eddie's pronunciation of his name on the podcast 🤣

It’s a bit of that Whakatane kind of thing isn’t it. The thing with Te Whare is his next 2 years he’d virtually be playing for his next 6 years. If he could have a good couple of years he’d increase his demand & with a new club in 2027 it’d be very advantageous for him to do that. He’s only turned 24 in September so he’s playing the next 2 seasons as a 24 & 25 year old. This his opportunity to have a career, probably as a centre or edge, in the NRL if that’s the way it goes.Valynce Te Whare is an interesting one, fitness an issue but when right goes ok. I might be wrong but Faagatu Isn’t part of the top 30 any more. According the tigers website

It looks like the website has only posted 29 players, possibly an oversight, what else is new lol

And Tumeth and a few others still there? A big mistake if the club has released Faagatu IMO.

100% agree Garry. Would be the right replacement for Stefano and certainly an upgrade on some of the garbage Stef threw up at the back end of the year.
Obviously our issue is top 30 spots in regard to signing new players. I believe there's a strong likelihood that anyone who isn't signed beyond 25 or doesn't sign beyond 25 will be free to leave immediately if the club they sign for in 26 can take them. Hoping Pole signs on for 26 and beyond but i dont have a good feeling about it.
