Great game from Alex last night. Is he a real backrow option for us next year?
Eight runs for 81 metres and 50 tackles.

There is nothing flashy about Alex Seyfarth but he scrapped and scrambled like a man possessed. That Broncos pack was supposedly going to run over the top of us but Alex kept turning up and putting his body in the firing line of Haas,Flegler, and Carrigan. That was gutsy and determined ,and not to mention his cameo 30metre run down the sideline out of trouble towards the end of the game.Effort upon effort.
Depth or bench only. Like several of our forwards in years gone by, if he is in the starting side we're just not a top quality pack.

He was very good defensively. Needs to work on his hit-ups though, maybe he runs too upright and is tackled easily.
No, not a first choice option.
I commend the guy for his effort and I know why coaches like him, because he's a real workhorse and he goes about his job so methodically. But he makes very little impact in attack, and even in defence I'm a bit nervy if they get him 1-on-1. He's a very capable defender in the middle, but as someone like Alex Twal shows, you really need to have another dimension to your game if you are going to make a legitimate impact in first grade. Twal also tackles everything that moves, but he rarely misses, and can be expected to take some strong carries.

100% agree with this. My other big gripe is that he always gives away a stupid penalty each game and undoes any of his good work. On the weekend it was overrunning the ball in the first half that led to an AD forward pass. AD shouldn’t have passed it, but you need to time your run as well. Little things like this make him a liability despite his passion and mongrel which I think he has in spades.
Not a massive Seyfarth fan, but one thing he does have that many others lack is that passion. He genuinely always seems to be putting everything in and thats not nothing.
Exactly

No. He's not a first grader.
Would be great in Super League and I predict he ends up there.
Spot 26 to 30 in our squad if we are serious about being competitive.

While at this early stage of his career he’s not a dynamic runner of the ball I do think he proved himself as a first grader on Saturday night. With an off season under his belt and a little more heft and bulk he still has a lot of development in him.He has passion in spades and I think it way too premature to be writing him off as a first grader.

Thats the way i see it too.
