@garry not good enough Garry I want an attacking onslaught. There’s no time to wait. Bring on John Bateman.

Doubt Bateman will be here.

I'm really surprised to see how many people have put Blore ahead of Pole. Take out the game against Parramatta and Blore has never really done anything. Even when fit I thought he was good defensively but didn't add much attacking wise, whereas Pole was consistently very strong from his first game both in attack and defensively. I'd be having Pole in my side every day of the week over Blore.

I had Pole as my prediction for other second row spot, not just because of Blore’s injury etc but also because I can see Pole really ripping in over the off-season and grabbing the spot.

Enjoyed the the Pod,

Regarding this Round 1 Discussion. we sound a little silly having players like Klemmer, Brown discussed when their still on the Wishlist

Predictions mixed in with a little hope 😆 we’ll see how well or poorly we went in March!

I worry about Blore as well, but I think asking Pole to step up to a full time edge role is a huge ask, even noting how impressive he was last year (as a middle, mind).

@garry if we want to win games, that's who I would be signing

Bateman

Klemmer &

Welsby

All gettable

One down two to go...
Bateman to play an edge or #13 though?

That's it - I think those three fiĺl the gaps we need to fill.

Bateman I'd play on an edge, sharing with Blore.

I'd have Hastings sharing 13 with a spell from Rua.

Unless things changed quickly in the last 30 hours then I would still be surprised by a Bateman announcement.

So far our only post season signing is Staines?

We need to sign some decent players if we are serious about 2023.

The players we've been linked most heavily with are Moses, Bateman and Klemmer.

You think we'd hopefully land 1 or 2 of those.

We can't sign any more fringe first graders (which I put Staines in that catergory)

Top 8 2023

To be honest I wasn't expecting many signings between 22 and 23, Staines was about all I thought we would see but the number of players we have released has my hopes up.

Put this way, we need to sign at least 3 more players for 2023.

They can either be '3 decent signings,' or squad fillers.

I hope it's 3 decent signings that move the club in a forward direction

On the latest edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast we all named the team we expect Tim Sheens to name for Round One 2023.

These aren't the teams we would pick (well not necessarily anyway), but a prediction of what Sheens and co might be thinking.

I went:

  1. Staines
  2. Nofoaluma
  3. Naden
  4. Doueihi
  5. To'a
  6. Laurie
  7. Brooks
  8. Klemmer
  9. Korisau
  10. Ofahengue
  11. Papali'i
  12. Pole
  13. Hastings
  14. Utoikamanu
  15. Twal
  16. Brown
  17. Talau

Eddie went for:

  1. Laurie
  2. Staines
  3. Kepaoa
  4. Doueihi
  5. Nofoaluma
  6. Brooks
  7. Hastings
  8. Stefano
  9. Korisau
  10. Klemmer
  11. Papali'i
  12. Blore
  13. Ofahengue
  14. Pole
  15. Maumalo
  16. Matamua
  17. Twal

Declan went with:

  1. Staines
  2. Nofoaluma
  3. Kepaoa
  4. Naden
  5. Maumalo
  6. Doueihi
  7. Hastings
  8. Klemmer
  9. Korisau
  10. Ofahengue
  11. Bateman
  12. Papali'i
  13. Brown
  14. Simpkin
  15. Blore
  16. Twal
  17. Utoikamanu

Steve's prediction:

  1. Laurie
  2. Nofoaluma
  3. Kepaoa
  4. Naden
  5. Maumalo
  6. Doueihi
  7. Brooks
  8. Klemmer
  9. Korisau
  10. Twal
  11. Blore
  12. Papali'i
  13. Hastings
  14. Brown
  15. Utoikamanu
  16. Ofahengue
  17. Ngatikaura

Garry's crystal ball shows:

  1. Laurie
  2. Nofoaluma
  3. Kepaoa
  4. Naden
  5. Staines
  6. Doueihi
  7. Brooks
  8. Klemmer
  9. Korisau
  10. Ofahengue
  11. Papali'i
  12. Bateman
  13. Hastings
  14. Simpkin
  15. Twal
  16. Blore
  17. Utoikamanu

What are your predictions?

We all had Hastings, we were so young and naive 😆
