Benji’s response in the press conference should have been: “I love my players but today was totally unacceptable.”

Until we have someone who can not only foster great relationships, but also set and achieve high expectations/standards we will continue to flounder.

Ah yes, "unacceptable". That wonderful word that was used to death during the 20-teens by Benji, Robbie and co. All to no avail.

I'm glad he hasn't been rolling it out now and I'll be happy if I never hear it uttered again!

I feel like today’s performance only ignites the coaching debate.

Watching today on Fox, and listening to Cooper Cronk commentary, I would sign him as attack coach in a heartbeat. Whatever terms he wants.

Tigers have more wins this year than the cowboys. Assume that Payten will be looking for a job next year. Benji has the man management down pat, he needs redzone help,

I’d love to have him back home.

Since 2011, the tigers have had

one season with 12 wins,

3 with 11,

one with 10,

2 with 8,

3 with 7

1 with 6

2 with 4 wins

We now have 7 wins and are a decent chance to get at least 2 more this year. That is not even mentioning the 2 or 3 games we should have won this year.

we have a coach who can recruit and a ceo who doesn’t do silly deals. Benji deserves another year with everyone’s full support but he needs someone to show him how to coach redzone

Perhaps controversial take: the thing we are missing is Royce Hunt. We now have strike on both edges with strong halves, centres and wingers. What worked very well to start the year was Hunt coming on, denting the defensive line, fast play the ball and spread wide to retreating defence to allow out centres to work. That is what worked so well in the redzone to start the year. Bring Hunt back and we have a chance at 9th

Agree! This has crossed my mind lately too. If he could come good for us it would really help in finishing the season on a good note.

Zero Tackle’s take on Benji’s position at present:

While they've improved off the back of three wooden spoons, the Wests Tigershave still dished up yet another underwhelming season in 2025.

If the club hadn't been this awful for the last decade, Benji Marshall would be under much more pressure.

Lucky for him though, they have, and due to his inexperience as an NRL head coach, the benefit of the doubt has been granted in his second year.

Unlike season's past, though, the Tigers have the troops to at least make a finals push in 2026. If Benji can't get his men up to the task, questions will need to be asked around his ability to elevate one the worst club of the 2020s to the next level.

I don’t get how Ryles gets so much positive press despite atrocious results. Benji has never coached before and his team sits ahead of this guy who has spent a decade watching the storm, roosters and English rugby team coaching setups.

Plenty of movement starting to happen in the coaching positions.

Any potential new assistant coaches worth putting beside Benji for 2026? O'Brien?

Given where we will finish on the ladder it seems unlikely that there will be any changes that Benji doesn’t seek. My guess is we are unchanged

@tigertownsfs The one thing that needs to change is bringing in professionals to fix the glaring problems  with the players tackling technique contact and wrestle/ ball handling and security . There needs a heap more coaching to bring this team into a competitive top 8 team . The coaching set up atm falls short Imo and needs serious thought to bring in serious assistants . If Marshall wants real success he needs to consider the coaching short fall .

Totally agree. If Benji can't get his team into the top 8 next year, questions will need to be asked.
