Won't be Flanagan

2 weeks from Monday we announce Morris after Ciraldo announces that he won't do anything until Ivan is healthy. Then later he announces he is staying in Penrith.
Warfarin will fix that up
Sounds like @unhappy-tiger may have been there before.
It can be quite serious (25% of people who get pulmonary embolism the first symptom% is death) but it's treated well with Warfarin. I can't see it making a difference to a decision on coaching. Ivan will be on warfarin for 6 months and apart from regular INR tests will be life as usual - it's not the end of the world if you're in the 75% 🙂
Yeah after my ACL surgery ...everything was going brilliantly had my knee at almost 90 degrees after 2 weeks ..and it just blew up like a balloon ....what was even worse it was hiding another disease which I fortunately only got a mild dose of ...lymphodema ... 11 weeks off work became 26 weeks off work ......I ended up having to get the knee bent back into shape under anaesthetic .....

@garry If you are the baord, how long do you give Cilardo to make a decision?
From what I hear, he's very meticulous and would take his time deciding. Plus now the cleary health issue may complicate his timeline.
But at the end of the day, we can wait too long and be left at the altar.
And who is your plan b if he turns us down?

That's no good. I've had two PE's - one in 2010 and one in 2018. I'm now on life long Eliquis as a preventative. They did a million tests to see if I had some underlying issue but was clear in everything - just bad luck I guess.
I had an ACL done mid 90s by Sam Sorrenti, perfect recovery. Had essentially full range of motion, including knee flat on the table, at my first physio session. Physio was amazed and said I was very lucky to have such great mobility. The poor bloke next to me had the physio literally pressing full body weight onto his knee to get it down and never got past about 60°. Poor guy was screaming in pain.
9 months back to full running and never a problem since.

Surely the clock is ticking and things need to be resolved in June?

I would have been fairly certain of the replacement before getting rid of Madge.

Wests Tigers star Adam Doueihi says he is committed to the club for the long term and vowed not to “tap out on my teammates”, while asking why Anthony Seibold has become the forgotten man of NRL coaching.
Doueihi makes his long-awaited return from knee surgery on Sunday when he will come off the bench for the Tigers against Canterbury.
The 23-year-old local junior says he has no intentions of cutting and running on the club, despite it appearing destined to miss the finals for an 11th straight season.
Off contract at the end of next season, Doueihi said: “You never want to tap out on your teammates or throw in the white flag. I love the club. I’m a local junior, and when I first signed here I said I wanted to bring success, and we haven’t done it yet. I’m really happy here and I want to bring some success.”
Doueihi was a big fan of sacked coach Michael Maguire, and it was Maguire who handed him his first NRL deal at South Sydney, then later lured him home to Concord.
Panthers assistant Cameron Ciraldo is the club’s top signing priority for next year, but Doueihi was happy to back left-field option Seibold, who gave him his NRL debut at South Sydney.
Seibold took the Rabbitohs to the preliminary finals in his first year as a head coach in 2018 and was crowned Dally M coach of the year, but then lasted just 18 months during a turbulent time at the Broncos.
Doueihi’s love for Maguire was only matched by his curiosity as to why Seibold’s name had so quickly dropped off the NRL radar.
“It’s frustrating for Madge because he thought we could do better this year,” Doueihi said. “It hurt not being out there. He signed me out of school to Souths, and when I was leaving Souths he got me to the Tigers.
“I have a lot of respect for him, that he saw me as a good kid and a good player. I have a lot of care for him. He’s a man, a father and a really good coach. He will find a gig and I have a lot of respect for him.
“I reached out to him a few weeks ago. We will catch up and have a coffee and speak about the good and bad days we’ve had. He is definitely someone I will lean on and take advice from.”
As for Seibold, who is now an assistant to Eddie Jones with the England rugby side – and is contracted with them until the 2023 World Cup – Doueihi said: “I don’t pick the coach, but I have had Seibs in the past [as a coach]: he gave me my debut jersey at Souths, I was a fan of his structures and systems and the way he coached. He looked after his players and I liked his methods in attack and defence.
“His name hasn’t been thrown around like the others, but he can definitely coach. He got us to the prelim finals in his first year, so he knows what he is doing.”
Just where Doueihi slots back into the Tigers line-up once he regains full fitness is a good – and rare – problem for the Tigers to have. Maguire had intended to switch Jackson Hastings to lock and unite Doueihi and Luke Brooks in the halves.
Doueihi and Hastings have often teased each other about who should move to lock once both were fit.
“He [Hastings] weighs more than me, so if you’re going off weight, he should be in the middle,” Doueihi said. “We’ll see what happens after the bye. I like playing No. 6, and I see myself playing No.6 or in the halves.”
His return so far into the season means Doueihi won’t take part in Lebanon’s clash with Malta next week, but he and several other first-graders will come into camp to assist coach Michael Cheika, who is also Doueihi’s uncle.

Any takers for Siebold?
At least Doueihi looks he won’t be going anywhere.

I read something about Seibold the other day, that he could be a good fit. I'd put him ahead of Morris, Flanagan and the other also-rans.
When in 2023 is the Rugby WC?
