Sounds like @unhappy-tiger may have been there before.
It can be quite serious (25% of people who get pulmonary embolism the first symptom is death) but it's treated well with Warfarin. I can't see it making a difference to a decision on coaching. Ivan will be on warfarin for 6 months and apart from regular INR tests will be life as usual - it's not the end of the world if you're in the 75% 🙂

His name was tossed up last year when it looked like Madge might depart. I watched an interview he did on YouTube, pretty impressive guy.

Cant imagine Shaun Wane could be considered a "development coach". He would have no knowledge of local junior development or pathways, or the NRL style of play for that matter. Would be a VERY bold (and foolish IMO) move.
If an English coach is going to get a crack in the NRL this is the bets opportunity given Sheens would know them all
Ian Watson would be my pick from the English coaches - but Shaun Wane and Steve McNamara have an interest also to crack NRL
From the Aussie coaches over there, Kristian Wolf is the best and would be my next pick if we can't get Cilardo
