New Two Year deal for Twal

Alex Twal has signed a new contract which will see him wear the Tigers jersey until the end of 2024.

The 25-year-old was already contracted for the 2022 campaign but signed a two-year extension to continue his Tenure at Wests Tigers.

Twal make the move from the Eels in 2017 before making his first-grade debut for the Tigers and featuring for Lebanon in the Rugby World Cup.

“I’m really happy to be staying at Wests Tigers,” Twal said in a club statement.

“Wests Tigers feels like part of my DNA now. I’ve been there for five years and know we’re building something very special with the people we have at the club.

“I’m really focused on making the club successful and doing whatever I can to be a part of that. I know what success will mean to the Wests Tigers fans and everyone within the club and I’ll put everything into what I do to help us achieve that success.”

Coach Michael Maguire was excited to see Twal who has plaued 89 games for the Tigers remain at the club.

“We’re all very pleased to see Alex re-sign with Wests Tigers,” Maguire said.

“Alex is a true professional in the way that he approaches his game, and I’ve been impressed in the way that he has grown as a leader within our squad.

I think this is a great re-signing. Hopefully he can get his first try early next season.

Glad he re-signed. He was one in particular I was worried that he might leave.
