I can see why Madge may entertain a move to the dogs. He is under the pump here and his job is not safe, could even be sacked in a few weeks if the team does not win. A move could guarantee another two years of work for him.
He’s contracted here till the end of 2023. Sacking him still guarantees him almost 2 years pay anyway
I thought there was some performance criteria in that final year contract year ie we can get rid of him if KPIs aren’t met.
You make a good point Eastiemagpie makes a good point - if Maguire does get sacked by us it could be difficult for him to get another job.
Taking on that Bulldogs roster with Mahoney and Kikau coming in could also be attractive.
Yeah I have no idea about performance clauses or the like. Smart move by the club if that is the case.
If the performance clauses are for the final year - makes no difference as the contracts up anyway
Guess, the end of your contract is the ultimate performance clause.

Definitely no guarantee and no coach will be successful without plenty of talent in their squad. I'm not sure what an assistant coach is paid, but I assume its generous and maybe Ciraldo doesn't have the nugs to take the next step, expose himself to the media scrutiny and the heightened risk that goes with it. And fair enough if that's the case.
I said on the podlast night its ironic despite having 2 wins from 10 and in his 4th losing season I think Madge may be as safe as he has been for 12 months or so.
If we can get Chichton over the line, then you have Jacko, Api, Stefano and Adam who all would be pretty loyal to him, there's no way I can't see him being the coach for 2023 at least.

You have to assume that they have signed knowing who the coach is .....or possibly a clause saying if the coach isn't who they thought it was .....
