@geo-2 I do not think that sacking Maguire is churning over coaches .. 3 seasons of failure and progressively each season worse .. no player has  improved in his tenure.. no decent player wants to come to the club..and wait it will be 0&6 this time next week for this season .

And you want this guy around next season … I suppose we all have differing views of what failure looks like !

It is also very funny that no one can agree on who should replace Maguire.. Morris nah not sold on him Flanagan also a no ...this guy that guy.. I see no definitive actual plan.. so it's change for change sake... hoping for success... and the cycle will continue to roll in two years time three years time 10 years time the same how long do we give the next coach .. who are we planning to replace them with..

Would you prefer to leave someone in charge that just continues to make the team worse? We're in year 4 now and $1.65 for the spoon. How much longer do you want to give it. 1 year, 2 years, 3 years? How many spoons do you think we should accrue before it's no longer a change for change's sake?

And regardless, this is just a forum - we all have differing opinions. The board and Sheens and the ones who need to make the decision, not us. For what it's worth my personal view at this stage is that I would take literally anyone. You could give the role to a woolies bbq chicken and it couldn't do any worse than the current muppet in charge.

I want the Club to stick with their convictions.. They extended Maguire until the end of 2023.. that should not change..if that was not there plan they should have never extended his contract..

Sacking him does nothing Put the plan in place to replace him now at the end of his tenure..

So in your opinion the club sticking with their convictions is more important than what's good for the club?

I think it's more important to Put the plan in place to replace him now at the end of his tenure..

I think it is more important to put the plan in place to replace him at seasons end.

Oh god I can't do another 20 weeks of this lol

That would involve announcing a coach for 23 in the next few weeks

In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)

You are suggesting that having conviction is more important that improving the team, and I think that is complete rubbish. Making the incorrect decision to keep him in the job is bad enough. Knowing that it is the incorrect decision but sticking with it due to "conviction" is insanity...

What's the plan for the next coach then..if there is no improvement keep churning them over..  ?

So you'd rather stick with what you know won't work than try something different that might? Do you think that's a bit defeatist?

I'm asking what your plan is..I have laid out mine..

Sure, here it is.

  1. Sack Madge today.
  2. Have Gardner take over as caretaker coach for the remainder of the year.
  3. Go through a selection process to determine who the best option for coach will be for 2023. I would entertain Flanagan, Woolf, Henry, Toovey, Ciraldo, anyone really. Noone should be ruled out and they should go through a thorough screening process.
  4. Once the coach is appointed he should be in charge of all recruitment and retention, as well as appointing his own assistant coaches for season 2023.
  5. Sack Pascoe. Mark Sawicki can step into the role until someone suitable is found. My recruitment strategy would be to look at strong rugby league administrators both here and abroad. I'd also consider people from other professional sports who have had success running organisations.

That's fine too... no one seems to be able to give me the alternative though...

And if he stayed we'd be in a way better position than we are now. So i'm not sure what point you're trying to make.... Seems you just want to do nothing

Dont like Buzz all that much,

Career built on Gossip and negativity.

There is no reason to pay Madge out in his last year, any caretaker will not improve our culture.

last part of this article is another nail in the Madge coffin. We have below average forwards who don't or can't run hard.

Sad reading 🙁
