Yeah don’t worry about making a movie out of this club, not even a mini series. You could make season’S with this club. I think unless the nrl step in the wests tigers will be toast.

The perception that HBG would like people to believe:

“All recommendations from that review were implemented in full, including the establishment of an independent board structure.”

“…the current model has not provided the level of communication and alignment needed between the Wests Tigers and its parent entity,…”

“To strengthen governance and ensure clearer visibility and collaboration across both organisations, a notice of removal has been issued…”

“The Holman Barnes Group has full faith and commitment in Shane Richardson as CEO…”

“Our focus is on stability, unity and success both on and off the field.”

“While it has worked in some areas, it hasn’t worked in others. And the Holman Barnes board has been left in the dark on some commercially sensitive announcements. Further to this, the Holman Barnes board doesn’t believe the communication between the boards has been satisfactory.”

”We don’t want to micromanage the football operations…”

And the reality:

The HBG Board would be well aware of decisions being made by the WT Board, as Dennis Burgess sits on both. It would seem that WT Board decisions have not been unanimous and it’s pretty obvious who’s had the dissenting voice. It’s also obvious that the HBG Board didn’t like Wests Tigers having autonomy, despite setting them up to do so.

The Wests Tigers CEO brings matters to the WT Board for endorsement, that’s how governance works. It is therefore obvious that Richo does not have the “full faith and commitment” from HBG. I don’t see that he has any choice but to resign. That would be a tragedy.

Spot on. I don’t see how Richo stays now.

I'm far from Richardson's biggest fan, but, to me, he should not even think about resigning. To do so, now, would be the height of weakness.

If he genuinely has the influence that he and others credit him with, and the best interest of WT NRL Club at heart, which he tells us repeatedly, then he has a job and it's been publicly endorsed by HBG. So just get on with it.

If that includes using his influence, as he sees it, with NRL boffins, politicians or others to get rid of HBG, then, good.

Richardson is, supposedly, a master manipulator to get his wishes. HBG are amateur manipulators by comparison, they're in it for the status and profile that their dear old Magpies can't provide them. And they're backed and paid by nothing more than a pokie-palace. That's the obscene bit in all of this.

Over to you Mr Richardson. Let's see your leadership navigate WT NRL Club successfully through this one. But a knee-jerk reaction like the Galvin media release cannot be the first step.

The mask is off. Burgess has been behind the sacking of the old board, the old chairman, the HBG CEO and now the new “independent” board. There is no possible way that a new board could be independent if they are coming in to replace a board that has been sacked without cause. It’s over, the independent review has been completely unwound. The only course of action is to seek for the removal of Burgess. The entire public fight to come has to be to demonise and extract Burgess from his role. We need to make him the public face of the last 10years of disaster. There is no case for another review, it’s just demonise burgess and put him under as much pressure as possible.

This move from the HBG could completely unravel everything that has been achieved in the last 18 months.

The people running HBG are a deadset joke... Us fans should rise up and take the entire club out of their useless hands... They do far more damge to the club than any good.

The Lee H segment on SEN was very honest on the ultimate goal of HBG intentions to return the magpies

very sad

IMO as of tomorrow the club has to reimburse members that want their membership money back ! This club is a joke and this money has been taken on false pretence as the HBG knew a while ago this move was going to happen ! There also needs to be a rally and protest march at Ashfield HQ if you as a supporter do not like this it’s time to get of your arses and take it to the streets !

Agreed. Lets name a time and place and I am in for a protest rally.

Lee mentioned the jersey a few years ago pasco tried to introduce some orange to the nsw cup jersey and the western suburbs magpies faction had a meltdown
clowns
Lee also mentioned ultimate goal was to return Magpies to nrl and remove the tiger. He did mention licence with nrl is with wests tigers
he thought a 50 - 50 chance in 2028 wests tigers will be wests magpies in nrl

As fans, we hold the power! We can't let these clowns undo the great progress that has been made over the last year or so. Especially for something as trivial as jersey colour and an apparent "lack of communication" between boards. A protest will show the true power of the fans.
