@mickb I'm sure Richardson and Marshall will be trying to upgrade the roster. My point is that that is easier when managers and players see WT as a serious club to sign for. With Richardson leading those negotiations we're starting from behind by comparison to other CEOs, IMO. And, will more than likely have to pay "overs" to get those signatures. I would like to see him disappear as soon as possible.
I can't agree with this, Richo is one of the most respected figures in the game.

What other club CEO's do you compare to? I don't know enough about the other clubs admin but I agree that its a fair way to compare their abilities.
I agree that we are starting from behind but I don't think its got anything to do with Richo. It has more to do with the fact that Justin Pascoe couldn't pull off any wins in recruitment over a 10 year period. We were sucked into offering big money to Packer, Matulino, Mbye and Reynolds at the start of the Cleary era. Then after we cleared those deals we overpaid local juniors because every high profile player we tried to sign knocked us back.
I would go as far as saying that Richo only deserves to be judged once every Pascoe era contract is off our books.
@mercy-rule My heavens you certainly haven’t held back on Richo. You’ve labelled him a buffoon,an ignoramus,a mouth in overdrive and a mind in neutral. Then you go after him for blathering, his body language and smirks.Obviously you’re not a fan,but in your tirade of ad hominems maybe it would be illuminating if you were to cite the issues to which you take exception. You didn’t mention one apart from it frightening you of his presiding over retention negotiations of API,Luai and Bula.
As far as I’m concerned Richo’s supposed resurrection from the “professional wilderness”,as you put it,and whatever that means has been the best thing to happen to us in close to a couple of decades.I’d just like to say that Richo possesses a very rich understanding of the National Rugby League landscape and I found his recent interviews pretty frank, and to the point.I disagree with you strongly,I like what he is doing.
Each to our own@tiger-symmetry. I stand by everything I wrote about Richardson. But, for clarification, i wrote about the body language and smirks of Anasta and Tallis as they interviewed Richardson. That someone, such as our CEO, who is not taken seriously by media (and managers, I suspect) is in charge of retention and recruitment, is a massive concern. For me but, obviously, not for you.@mercy-rule My heavens you certainly haven’t held back on Richo.

So far, for me Richo gets a grade of B. What happens over the next year could see this rise or fall based on pressing issues such as Bula, Campbelltown and finding a couple of hard edge forwards.

I think criticism of people in public positions it has been and will always be there. Social media has allowed us another, much wider, platform to express that criticism whether warranted or not. There is little or no accountability so we do it without consequences to ourselves. In fact this club, or any club really, could make a GF next year and there would still be criticism should they not win. That’s simply the nature of the beast for those people in roles we deem to be of importance to us. It’s not something I enjoy doing so I don’t bother but I understand why others feel that need to do so. It’s all part of the rugby league pantomime, “He’s behind you! He’s behind you!.”Each to our own@tiger-symmetry. I stand by everything I wrote about Richardson. Liquor and gaming has cleared the HBG of any wrongdoing or shortfalls in the organisation’s governance.
I’m really glad that a review was undertaken and that the governing body was satisfied that things are above board.
Onwards and upwards for all hopefully!
