Is it time for Maguire to go?

yes let Sheens interim coach and go hard for ciraldo or promote Gardiner to co coach with sheens

It’s not ideal to sack a coach early in the season but what options do we have. What options are there in the coaching market?

Do we go with Gardiner as interim coach?

Gardiner and Sheens for the rest of 2022 would be a good strategy.

Maguire basically responds "we will look at what happened and address it" - been saying that for over three seasons!

Its hard to give an objective comment so soon after a dismal loss. In saying that I do think that Madge has had enough time to build a squad and in that regard he has failed miserably.

It's time to start seriously looking at other candidates. I think John Morris wil come into the mix. He is close with Sheens. I actually think Todd Payten would also be considered and I could actually see Madge and Payten swapping roles. Payten has burned his relationships with players up in Townsville

The next coach has to be able to draw players to the club. Madge is not managed by any of the high profile managers and it has always counted against him.

I can see our crazy board signing up someone like Seibold who sounds pretty wise when he talks footy but clearly has an issue managing players.

The really concerning thing for me is the state of the roster. We have plodders like Twal and Seyfarth on long term deals while two of our better players in Luciano and Kelma are departing.

We don’t want shifty as coach …. I’d go with Gardner and I’d have Robbie as his assistant. 

It was apparent that the majority of the playing squad wanting nothing to do will Maguire last season .. blame the board the decisions they make are just amateurish!

He should have been sacked 2 years ago. He’s absolutely clueless. Not firing him at the end of last season is one of the stupidest things the club has ever done.

They’ll give him another few weeks to completely ruin any chance of making the finals then hopefully appoint someone who has some idea how to coach. 

This club is a complete basket case.
