Judiciary Report: Hastings, Wilton facing bans from Round 2

AuthorNRL.comTimestampMon 21 Mar 2022, 09:54 AM

Wests Tigers playmaker Jackson Hastings is facing two weeks on the sidelines after he was charged with a Grade 2 Dangerous Throw in his side's loss to Newcastle on the weekend.
As it is his first offence for the season, Hastings will miss two matches with an early guilty plea or three matches if he is found guilty at the judiciary panel.

Teammate Joe Ofahengaue was also cited for a dangerous throw, but his grade one charge will see him face just a monetary fine.

Can’t see him getting out of it. He did it, so take the early plea and move on.

No doubt it was a clumsy tackle.. not sure it's worth 2 weeks given you just get a measly fine for a cannonball these days

Would challenge the Grading for sure..

Disappointing. I'd be tempted to challenge given he landed him one his side/back rather than his head but if the MRC has said Grade 2 they'll likely be reluctant to go against it.

What's the significance of the first offence being two weeks? I would have thought he'd have no carry over points and a first offence would covet some lenience. It also seems strange they other guy was charged with a Grade 2 and only got a week.

I don't think it deserved two weeks but I am looking through black and gold glasses.

He lifted him above the horizontal and with force. Guilty as charged.

I don't think he wins if he challenges as others have said he did lift, 2 weeks is better than 3

Shame he'll be gone for 2 weeks because he played less terrible than the rest of them. It's become pretty obvious that our best halves combo will be 6. Doueihi 7. Hastings.

Hastings is our only lock option for 2022, he woukdcplay the role better than Connor Watson or Radley

Let Brooks and Douhie play 6 and 7 and have Hastings roam at lock
