It might be something on the radar given the LO stuff.

souths move out of Accor we move in
That is the worse possible outcome.
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
We’d be mad not to jump into the SFS while South’s are being held to their contract at Homebush.

If I had to pick a major stadium that i wanted us to play out of it would be SFS but it just doesnt feel right to me being so far from the "West". Homebush or Parra make more sense in that regard but I hate them both.
@barra agree we need to move into SFS and get under souths noses while we can
1) the NSW government needs to slap down clubs who attempt to claim central stadiums as their personal property
2) I think the issue with south’s is that they have an agreement with Accor as one of the anchor tenants. It might be an issue for the government with the sponsorship rights they have sold to Accor that they play a certain amount of games there to ensure there is a profile for the sponsor.
3) none of that impacts Wests Tigers as we have no agreement to play any games at a NSW government venue currently (final game was last weekend).
4) the soccer World Cup shouldn’t really impact us as we have multiple home grounds. I doubt the World Cup teams will be training at CSS so just schedule all our home games during that period at CSS
tonight is the grand opening of the greatest rugby league stadium in the world. Justin Hemmes has the Midas touch and he will turn that venue into a massive game day event. Friends who went last weekend have told me the setup for fans is absolutely incredible in terms of the options available to dining drinking and watching. It is sitting there waiting for us, we played there for several years during peak Wests Tigers 15 years ago. We should be jumping at the chance to start a new chapter at the new SFS. Give members a steep discount and get 30k ticketed members and make it our home
@tigertownsfs CSS, is unavailable for use during the World Cup.

SFS is going to be a destination stadium. The roosters have a tiny fraction of our fan base. We could dominate it if we went all in and had management that had the ability to dream about creating the fan day experience people want
The Bundy Bar will be back at Waratahs games at the new Allianz Stadium next year. Or a 2.0 version, at least.
The Waratahs are exploring options to revive a party zone for games when they return to their home ground in 2023.
Rugby fans of a certain age will remember the popular Bundy Bar at the northern end of the old SFS, which would be full of young punters after packed Waratahs games in the 1990s and 2000s.
There isn’t scope for a similar bar in the new venue, but the Waratahs are talking to Allianz Stadium officials about copying soccer teams such as the Wanderers at CommBank Stadium (and likely Sydney FC at Allianz), who remove seating to set up standing areas for active support.
That would serve to give fans a “Leichhardt Oval hill” kind of space, said Waratahs boss Paul Doorn. Like the old Bundy Bar, the hope is that the northern end can stay open after games, too. It’ll have a new name, with NSW Rugby talking to prospective commercial partners.
“It will be similar, but different,” Doorn said. “We are extremely excited about getting back to Allianz Stadium, and want to make Waratahs games a real event and a great social occasion.”

I dont know what the situation will be at the SFS, but with the amount of LED and digital screens and lighting used at these new venues, I dont know why they arent set up to be completely customisable with Grandstand names and colours changing depending on who is playing there that day. They missed that trick at Commbank.
Looks like a great atmosphere on the TV.

It makes me sad to be honest. These 2 professional clubs playing at the best rugby league stadium in the world and we are left begging the government for some cash to make our stadium slightly less of a health hazard.

All in the name of nostalgia.

It sure looked good tonight.
@tigertownsfs Our club deserves to play at grounds that are not fit for elite sports …this is we’re the club is ATM the bottom of the heap , this is the motivation the club has they live in the past .
The new SFS opening game report:
We (daughter & myself) arrived just as the NRLW kicked off. The first hurdle was getting in. The mobile direction signs were pointing the wrong way and so we walked around the stadium until we came to our gate which was basically 20 mtrs away from where we started. Once at our gate getting in is straight forward. Usual bag checks and ticket barcode turnstiles to enter.
This is my opinion and viewed from where we were sitting, other areas my be different.
Seats were easy to find and the inside concourse is well signed. We were on the second tier (there are three) just to the left of the goal post in the last row directly under one of the big screens. The walk up the stairs is fine, not a lot of effort needed, and rows are clearly marked. Seating space is similar to the Western Sydney Stadium (WSS) in that I have to stand to let anyone pass. The seats are adequate with sufficient space between them. Even for my big frame I didn’t feel I was constantly bumping into the person next to me. We had a very clear and unrestricted view of the ground. The rise between rows is good and you are not looking into the back of the head of the person in front, even if they are tall. There was a slight drizzle as we arrived and although all seats are supposed to be under cover you could see that on the first tier, the first one or two rows in certain area, mainly the corners, were getting wet. If the rain was torrential with a strong wind you could envision that extending back several rows. From our seats there was a definite chilling breeze and we were glad we were rugged up for the evening. This dissipated somewhat as the ground filled.
We did arrive to watch the women’s game as I wanted to see what the atmosphere was like with only a few thousand people there. I have to say it was great. Even with small numbers there was a definite buzz around the ground. The oos, ahs, chanting and cheering were loud. This continued of course as the ground filled to 41,903 (a ground record lol). My conclusion is you won’t have a problem with atmosphere even with just 5K to 10K present.
One of the first things we noticed from our seats was that with the sound system used, the announcements we unintelligible. Hopefully this is just teething problems. It was muffled and all bass and we could not really tell what the announcer was saying.
The view during the game is fantastic. We didn’t feel that far away. We did stroll down to tier one and from there you are definitely very close to the game. I felt it was just a smidge further away than WSS, this could be just my perception and not reality, and of course heaps closer than Stadium Australia.
At half time during the woman’s game we decided it was time for dinner. Walked down to the main concourse and there is a wide variety of choice. Normal footy food such as pies, hotdogs, burgers and chips but also a wide variety of other food outlets. Sushi, falafel, healthy salads and even a specialty pie shop, I did think our late friend @Geo and he would have loved that. The one thing I did think of, even though we had no problem, is that the outlets were rather small and this was borne out during half time of the main game when we checked them out again and the queues to some outlets were very long.
Toilet facilities were good but not great. Clean and fresh and all but again at full capacity queues for the mens were long. Women’s not so much. Here I feel that they were a little inadequate. They would be OK for say a 30K crowd but not 42K. They also felt a little smallish for such a large crowd but that could be just where we were located or my perception. The recommendation here is if it is a large crowd go before the main game starts, don’t wait until half-time.
Apart from a few small niggles the ground is fantastic to watch footy. Is it better than Stadium Australia? - Yes. Is it better than Western Sydney Stadium? Yes. Is it better than Suncorp? Yes. In my opinion definitely the best ground to watch Rugby League.
On a side note as I brought tickets to a Roosters home game I am now getting all their membership info. $500 or $50 for 10 months for full season Gold reserved seating for all home games in tier one around the halfway mark at the best ground to watch footy. We pay similar monies to watch at the worst grounds in Australia. We need to be smarter.
