Going to the Roosters vs Wabbits game at the new SFS on Friday to check out the facilities. Looking forward to the experience.
Heard today on the radio you might be watching 2 reserve grade teams play
I’m not really interested in either team anyway. I’m just going to check out the SFS itself. I’m interested in what the game experience is like, not the game itself.

im guessing this is just posturing but Byrne is painting himself into a corner here. He says if they don’t get 10s of millions they will not allow elite sport to play at Leichhardt oval after end of 2023
Darcy Byrnes posturing drives me mad. He was mayor when Inner West Council rejected the Leagues Club multiple times.

I think his heart is in the right place but there’s clearly politics at play here (ie state election not too far away). Has Labor come out and said they will fund a proper upgrade/improvements for Leichhardt?

Truth is its not up to standard - and the best way to get the funding is say it's unsafe and stop playing games.
It's how SFS got rebuilt.
If they stop playing games due to safety - someone will kick in the money - state, feds or NRL

Yeah this is correct.
It’s a council owned ground it’s the responsibility of the council to have the ground up to stranded ! Do not listen to Byrne he wanted half the funding to be used for a swimming pool the council like Leichhardt oval has been run into total disrepair .Leichhardt oval is not fit for purpose to hoist any elite sporting events it is actually an insult to its supporters the Weststigers continue using the ground . It’s time as a club that one of the three stadiums that the tax payers of NSW have spent billions building be used as our home ground .This situation would not even be an issue if our club had some leadership moving forward in selecting a home ground it is now becoming a farce that the club actually has 6 home grounds how on earth can this club be taken seriously .The club is now bottom of the heap it’s decisions of the past decade that has driven the club to the failure it is today ,this situation is not a hard choice the actual largest crowd averages are at the larger stadiums .The powers to be at this club have to crawl out from under the rock that there been under for over a decade and move into the modern era of giving its supporter base a modern home ground with facilities to match …not continue using grounds that are out dated and lock out the supporter base !
@frullens No one will kick any money in time to face reality Leichhardt is done even with the small upgrade it still will be not a ground for elite sports.
The fact we are ending the 10 year agreement will this weekend and the club has not announced what it’s stadium strategy will be next year is a disgrace.
