After the last couple of weeks, I was softening a little on the SFS, but the Roosters have claimed it, just like Parra and CommBank. I would prefer CommBank than the SFS.

Parra didn’t claim CommBank, they didn’t have to, it was essentially built for them.

The SFS was built for the Waratahs and Wallabies and the fact that the Roosters have to “claim” it should tell you all you need to know.

I don't see home of the Parramatta Eels plastered on CommBank, Home of the Sydney Roosters is definitely on the SFS though.

The Parra Leagues club is less than 50m from CommBank and is covered with Parra imagery 20m high.

Funnily enough South’s don’t have a problem playing in the East principally because they can see the commercial benefits of playing there in a world class stadium.

Souffs dont have a problem playing at SFS principally because its in their area. Its 1500m from Redfern oval.

The Roosters Imagery is right on the stadium

Do you have any pictures of this Roosters signage.

Of course I do.

Well the first game there will be a Roosters home game against Souths.

The electronic signage could also say Home of the Wests Tigers or Home of South Sydney.

I really don’t have a problem with the electronic signage. It can say whatever, whenever.

The bottom line is it will be the best stadium in Australia to watch Rugby League and we should claim it as our home ground.

That isn't electronic signage.

Can someone please explain why we are worried that south’s etc will steal our juniors in the south west yet they will be playing at SFS and we have to play an hour from our homeland to claim these players? Doesn’t add up.

also it’s silly to be scared of playing at SFS because the roosters have a sign up on the SFS when they only ever average about 15k spectators.

The whole, “there is a sign!”, “it’s east of George st” stuff is just not a good arguement. They idea that Commbank is better is just ridiculous. South’s are a bigger threat at SFS than the roosters

SFS tenants will include Sydney FC, the Waratahs, the wallabies, the roosters and south’s.

Happy to help....

Add to that the Bulldogs tried to build a new club/homeground at Liverpool and are constantly poaching SW clubs and players. Penrith always sniffing and Manly lately have been "adopting" western sydney clubs.

"Our" juniors are well and truly at threat and under attack by other Sydney clubs who are stronger and in better positions than us. The ONLY thing we have in our favour is that this is supposedly "our" territory. Abandoning CSS would hand the whole junior area over to Souffs/Dogs/Penriff/Manly.

Correct me if I’m wrong but it is “our” junior area ie Wests Tigers runs it. Will this change if we play at SFS?

The “ours” is the issue, technically it’s Wests Campbelltown and they aren’t officially part of the family at this stage, thus they could, I believe, align themselves with anyone.

@helmesy that sounds quite precarious. Makes you wonder why we would base ourselves somewhere we don’t even control the junior pathways. What happens if we move to Campbelltown and then have a falling out with wests?

Correct. Ashfield has no ownership or control over Campbelltown with the only real link being history and the fact that most/all the board members at Campbelltown are Wests fans.

Of course I do.

Drove pass there today, I blinked and almost missed it. It’s the most unobtrusive sign on one of the smallest parts of the facade looking out to Moore Park Road. I thought it quite small and as such responsibly done. Don’t have a problem with it at all.

Still very happy to play our home games out of the new SFS.

@helmesy

Yes I agree

From my understanding Wests Campbelltown is an independent board, who could choose to align themselves with any NRL club.

It's why if I was the WT board - it's the first thing I'd do is find some type of formal agreement to bring the league and the leagues club under the WT umbrella

Top 8 2023

Isn’t the issue that wests Campbelltown don’t want to be involved in the NRL club? They gave up their 10% ownership voluntarily
