@tiger-symmetry Macarthur A League is not going great, and CS never worked fors wests magpies in late 90's

in 2005 CS had good attendances and so did LO

I am all for 4 games at CS and 8 at LO

I think the best Leichhardt can hope for is a 6-6 split.

Plenty of support for Homebush among these supporters.

Though there isn't option for even traditional homeground.

It was other than the two traditional grounds.

@garry don't think Campbletown will get a new stadium though

I am basing this 6 at LO purely on a LO upgrade, if we dont get an upgrade then no way we do 6 or 8 games at LO I would say 4 at best.

what I said a few weeks ago was the roof on Accor Stadium and looks like this might happen, what I am also hearing although cannot confirm is some amendments will be funded by nsw government in conjunction with Rugby Australia and Football Australia to push the stand forward to rectangle however no change in gradient of stand or bowl also noting the big screen will be going g into the stadium for the women's soccer world cup

Expecting something to come out in the next few weeks and shouldn't have anything to do with NRL

The post doesn't say that

I 100% agree that’s it’s not an us vs them arguement. I don’t live near Campbelltown so a move there would be inconvenient for me but I would still support the club completely and try and get to as many games as possible. This is probably the most significant decision for the club to make for the next 10 years and I’m sure (hope) there is a lot going on behind the scenes that will mean we make the right decision. Given the economic outlook I tend to think the window for material investment in football grounds is drawing to a rapid close (now that we have won the rugby World Cup I assume Homebush will consume any further investment). A new ground at Campbelltown hasn’t been mentioned as in the mix at all and I must admit I’m confused about whether a Liverpool ground (low probability) will deliver on what Wests Tigers wants.

Only my view and i understand that it isn’t going to suit the greater supporter base but if I owned the club I would move to a SFS/LO model (SFS for night games/big Sydney derbies, LO for day games with interstate teams). I would then invest everything in the MacArthur region (junior academy etc) and show that community that they are a huge part of our club. Giving emerging talent from the south west a tried and true pathway to professional rugby league.

im not trying to start and arguement and I know it’s completely against others views, just expressing an opinion. Whilst the south west is a growth corridor, the inner west is accessible for several million people. I know where I would want to play my games.

Can we get you a place on the board? Very well considered and mature position.

If there is no chance in the gradient then I'd rather they did nothing as the roof will prevent the changes the stadium actually needs from ever happening.

Even with the upgrade at LO I cannot see how we could go past 6 games and event that is stretching it as the capacity is just too much of an issue.

The biggest problem is that any option we take we have to compromise on issues that should be essential in a stadium for the Wests Tigers. Every option has major issues.

No worries Jedi, you’re entitled to your opinion.

The reason the Magpies didn’t do well at Campbelltown in the 90’s reinforces my point. They were perennial losers, wooden spooners, destitute and copping almighty floggings on a weekly basis .When we started to win as the West’s Tigers in our golden days we regularly attracted large crowds at all venues, and Campbelltown being no exception.

As far as Macarthur A League is concerned, what a wonderful time to be starting a new football franchise coinciding with a covid pandemic.Pushing the proverbial uphill I believe.

When you’re winning the turnstiles start clicking.

I guess a way to look at it also is that if we stay inner west you pretty much know (guaranteed) you’ll always have supporters and corporate backing, even if things aren’t great on the field. Is there a greater risk being Campbelltown based that things aren’t as guaranteed/safe and in the event that the team doesn’t improve? I think if we leave the inner west there might be no coming back if Campbelltown proved unsustainable for the club.

We aren't  leaving the inner west on a fulltime basis, it is never going to happen with the COE

@helmesy we are 20 years down we really should not be leaving either area out to be honest.

@garry An 8 CS and 4 LO is kind of leaving the inner west really, likewise a 8 LO and 4 CS is leaving Macarthur out.

Maybe the 6 and 6 is the way of the future if we get the LO upgrade

Then is the best way forward a split of 3 or 4 games in Campbelltown, 3 or 4 at Leichhardt and the balance at SFS/Accor? Trouble is, there goes having a “home” and we’re pretty much where we are.

It isn't really, we only play 3 games at each now.
