Accor stadium $10 tickets for big Sydney teams
give Parramatta Stadium the flick
Bulldogs looked to be on track for another massive crowd at Accor stadium. They are flying high and they have had a huge crowd surge but what do we think happens if we were to host several games against Sydney rivals (eels, bulldogs, dragons, souths) at Accor with $10 tickets available to fill the joint?
So 4 homegrounds?
well CSS have 4 weeks to find $100m for renovations which seems unlikely. I would think that the NRL would be supportive (via good scheduling for the rivalry game). LO with 20k seats for out of town teams/small Sydney teams like sharks and sea eagles and then the mega games at Accor with extremely cheap tickets seems like a reasonable compromise. The marginal cost of an extra filled seat is close to zero yet those people ear and drink. If you have to pay $100 for a GA at LO due to supply and demand you should be paying close to zero for a ticket at Accor. It’s simple economics.
I wouldn't play at Accor over Commbank.

I don't think Souths will be leaving Accor anytime soon, as much as they would like to.

play all dogs, rabbits, tigers games against each other at Accor with free reciprocal members rights and $10 GA tickets. Never play a Thursday or Friday night game there. Add Easter Monday against Eels and Sunday afternoon against Dragons and Panthers (ok panthers fans struggle to travel) and you are at your 6 derby games. Guarantee a minimum fee for the tigers to play there but encourage them to participate in upside if game numbers exceed a certain level (say 25,000). Give away free tickets to registered juniors to attend (don’t we have 10k?).
do something different and innovate!

There is a reason Souths want out and we would be mad not to listen to it. The ground just isn't fit for club games.

I agree not every club game but if our future is squinting into the sun at Parramatta stadium then that is untenable also. We have our suburban ground (LO), we have to challenge ourselves to grow into a bigger stadium.

You’re both right, it isn’t ideal but it also works on a lot of levels too.

Only level it works on is location.

Stadium Australia
CSS
Leichhardt
Western Sydney Stadium dead last.
We had season tickets for all the years that the club played at Accor . We looked forward to going there … on the train no fuss … great seats .. great ammenities ..easy in and out great location . I dispute the reasoning it had no atmosphere it is what it is , there was always an atmosphere there . If they only use the concourse seating bays there was always atmosphere. And I think that Accor was the most successful stadium for ground attendances than any other ground Re memberships location location . Personally we like Commbank but do think Accor is a better venue overall .On the other side we will never attend games at Leichhardt or Campbelltown these grounds are not for use in our opinion .
Stadium Australia was location of our greatest ever moment as a club and I was in the nosebleed section to witness it and it was magic.
No matter where they play the NRL need to make a rugby league game a day out, heading to any stadium for an event that maybe goes for 2 hours with stoppages and half time is a bit of a challenge especially when you are taking kids. Instead of adding teams to the comp why don't they raise the profile of the NSW Cup and make it a true replica of first grade including the interstate and NZ teams, they play before the NRL team at every ground, every weekend. You could hook fans in so they can see the up and coming stars, it would raise the profile of the competition and also keep the younger players engaged. It may also help develop more players and keep them in league because if you make it a product you raise money and potentially pay the kids more to have a crack at making it.
@lorenzo unfortunately while Burgess is relevant at the HBG the reserve grade will be the Magpies and play at Lidcombe oval to facilitate the 100 die hard magpies sad but true .. but yes playing one game is ridiculous and there should be more happening , with the reintroduction of the youth completion that could be the first game that side should be a Weststigers side!
