should be
LO x 2
CSS x 2
Parramatta stadium x 7
magic round x 1 (for money)
we can't solely just play at Leichardt then you are ditching campbletown area. We must play games at both CSS and LO
I don't think we should have multiple home grounds. I don't like Commbank because it is, and always will be, Parramatta's home ground. It's literally in Parramatta. We never win at Campbelltown and Leichhardt isn't suitable. Essentially we're a team that isn't NRL quality, without a home ground. If the club was a dog you'd put it down.
or move it to Perth...
@jedi-tiger they should send the club into a black hole.
Yawn! funding hasn't been approved and then details have to be worked out.
Play in a quality stadium for the next few years while they dot the i's and cross the t's.
This upgrade is years away and may never happen.
$50m will blow out pretty quick even if done now but this is not even ready to be sent for tender.
Do you punt the whole clubs future on a promise? A promise from a politician? If you plan on this it is a massive call.

and potentially lose members in the process.
I can't see how playing the bulk of the games at Parramatta stadium will attract more fans, compared to playing some games (potentially against interstate opposition) at local venues LO and CSS.
It will attract more corporates which in turn attracts more dollars to the club which is what Richo sees as important.
A move to Parramatta stadium for 3 years I am expecting fans to vote with there feet coming off a poor last 3 years and attendances to not be great in 2025 at Parramatta Stadium.

I think that will have a negative affect on membership numbers.

Yes. If people don't buy a membership because LO is gone...see ya later.
We are in a mess as a club because we have tried to keep everyone happy. And after 2 wooden spoons we are at rock bottom.
This club needs a vision to grow. Leadership to improve. If we improve our finances by leaving LO, a couple of hundred upset fans should not stop us.
I'm not sure parra stadium is the answer but going back in time to the 70s or 80s isnt either.

The save Leichhardt lot are generally more interested in their own interests than the club growing. Ie I can’t give up having a beer on the hill.

$50m gets you the “survive” option for LO ie a new northern stand, upgrade to change rooms, new seats in the lower bowl and some better food and beverage. It’s not enough to make it a majority or even 50/50 home ground (ie big upgrade to corporate and media facilities with a bigger western stand). This money is welcome but it looks to me to just allow professional sport to be played occasionally and perhaps support NRLW, soccer or rugby ie smaller crowds. Richo has bigger ambitions

and that comes from playing in a rivals suburb Paramatta ! Always will be parramatta's home ground no matter the spin richo puts on it.
Despite being run down LO still draws a crowd, why ? it is an "event ground" people like to go watch footy at.
Let's ditch some of the 7000 members we have for a vision of playing at Parramatta Eels home ground.
Homebush although not a good viewing stadium may well get an upgrade down the track and is not situated in an opponents suburb (close to our coe)
We are better trying to upgrade LO and then build a good stadium at CSS and play down the track
7 CSS
3 LO

a month ago people scoffed at the idea PVL would step in with the federal government and hand out some cash...
looks like it may have happened although we have seen this political football before...
NSW now also confirming they will chip in money. A shame they can’t get to the $100m option.

that 100milluin ootion loools good I do wonder if PVL suggested to Minns the GF might go walkabout if some funding was not given, seems a sudden change of heart from him in a month
now to get campbletown some cash, we cant forget our other area

Not if we bring Pascoe back.
Manly CEO Tony Mestrov said the club’s home ground of 4 Pines Park at Brookvale had brought financial challenges.
“It’s a great place for the team to play, but it’s a challenge from a commercial point of view and that’s represented by our standing in the benchmarking,” Mestrov said.
“We’re endeavouring to change that with the redevelopment and with funding, as we’re seeing with Leichhardt Oval.”
Parramatta chief executive Jim Sarantinos said their result allowed them to reinvest funds into the club’s football program.
“Quite a number of years ago we were much lower down the list,” he said.
“Our club has improved a hell of a lot. The move to CommBank Stadium has helped because of the experience we can provide to members, fans and corporate partners. The club having a better period of football, than has been the case historically, over a period of three or four years helps a lot, particularly in terms of bringing on corporate partners and the like.
“The most important part is the more money we generate, the more we can invest back into our football program.”
It’s not rocket science as to why Richardson wants to get us up that table.
