I hope this fires them up and proves all the naysayers wrong.

No way we have the worst pack.

Time will tell but I think we are around middle of the pack

Welcome Dallas.

I agree, and really I don’t think our pack is any weaker than last year.

Hopefully we see a bit more of a link man/creativity from lock and guys like Musgrove and Garner can step up.

@eddie asked the question on the pod whether the media would leave us alone this year. I think we have our answer!

Assuming Sean’s ACL scans confirm the worst,it is something we just have to put behind us.Firstly though, commiserations to poor Sean who must be feeling absolutely shattered.

Looking through the forward personnel, there are a couple of players with NRL experience who just have to step up and fill  the void. The two I’m citing are Zane Musgrove and Luke Garner. We’ve seen glimpses of their talent, but they have to now generate consistency whereby an average game becomes the exception,as they definitely have it in them. They can be instrumental in upping the standard of our pack and positively influencing the young talent coming through.Especially now where we’ve taken a hit to the roster before a boot has been laced.

I agree @unhappy-tiger but does the modern athlete think this way? Constantly bemuses me how the modern player seems so friendly with the opposition and not ‘psyched.’ I’m not sure they get this worked up any more. But they should!!

You’d like to think it would be a blow to their ego, maybe today it’s the guy in the locker next to you that’s at fault?

@tigersteve Yes that post match mingle where you’ve just been touched up by 30 and they’re all having a giggle,it does get under my skin.

I guess it’s not as tribal or representative of district as it once was.Its so much more mercenary.Nowadays, and we’ve seen a few examples, you can be playing for today’s opposition next week.

Accountability has been thrown out the window with the youth of today ...never wrong

That after game stuff drives me nuts - especially, as you say, if you’ve just put in a rubbish effort.
I reckon you’ve touched on a huge divide here - fans are still fiercely tribal but players are not

That is why it would leave it the morning of Rd 1 .....they can't think about ....Madge can jump on it ...and none of their hangerer onerers and the shakra advisors and player whisperers can't analyse the crap out of it

Yep ...thats what amazed me after the Townsville debacle back in the day .....they all hung around for 5 minutes talking to each other ....do you think they ever stopped to go and take a photo or two with fans and signed an autograph in the away fans area ...not a chance

People ask why I won't go to a Sydney game to watch the team play ...probably cost over 2k to watch them play and they might turn their toes up and wave the white flag and then totally avoid the fans ....

I wonder if Pascoe and the like ever even think about that ....

I can say with conviction that the club are very aware of the need to engage fans and members more and build advocacy. They are pumping resources into this area and trying to work out the best strategies. COVID has been problematic but they are trying
