When Twal goes down after 90 seconds, that is objectively game over.We are too compromised in the middle even before kickoff and have to be on best behaviour let alone suffer that sort of body blow to our middle.I agree with Garry’s sentiments re Marshall-King.We made him look so much better than he is....twice!If Twally is there it’s a much tighter ship.
Ok it wasn’t Luke’s finest game, but it seems to me that there is an overriding desire amongst a lot of folk to single him out and make him the scapegoat without attention to context. That’s patently unfair. We’re not winning the collision and we roll the dice on a lightweight bench and we are found out.Furthermore we had to accomodate AD’s return.
Brooks doesn’t deserve scapegoat status, and still puts his body in front of all the traffic sent in his direction. He wasn’t responsible for that loss even though he did err on a couple of occasions.
Another crud article emanating from the Fox sewers.Brooks Is not the cause of our woes.
Brooks' kicking game yesterday was a huge issue for me and I have been fairly supportive of Luke.
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
here is a great idea peachey is on 750k and brooks 1.1 million for 2023
why don't we pay 450k for peachey and 750k for brooks to play elsewhere.
way to blow 1.2 million of our cap for 2023
Peachey is reportedly on $350k next year.
@tiger-symmetry Brooks was awful yesterday and he deserves to be dropped now that Doueihi is back.
Bad news about Twal.
Just as well we still have Mikaele isnt it? Oh...hang on.......LL?
Genius idea to let two forwards leave from an understrength pack that is struggling to match it with the weakest in the comp.
Well looks like Brooks will bite the dust. Didn’t play well. Yet the forward pack in front of him remains. Interesting.
Also, we should be careful what we wish for I think. Yep Brooks was not good yesterday but neither were 15 others. He is one of a few genuine first graders we have and he’ll be in reserves. Lots of scrambling, try saving and one on one defence others are going to have to do to make up for his absence.
if this is true then surely we release brooks for 23 very shortly.

Spot on.
Our forwards were punching above their weight for most of this year until we released Mikaele- then our very shallow depth was exposed and the air has been let out of the balloon
Top 8 2023

I accept that he didn’t play well Declan, but on his overall form this year I don’t believe dropping him is warranted nor serves the greater good or enhances our team, which has been so overwhelmingly compromised anyway, through injury and player exit.
If there were young guns snapping at the heels of the first-graders,agreed,I’d be all for demotion.I just can’t see that is the case at the moment.
@tiger-symmetry besides the games against the Eels, Bunnies and Dragons, I actually think that Brooks has been quite poor. Also the young gun nipping at Brooks heels is Adam Doueihi.
The Bulldogs weren’t great, they just had confidence off the back of possession (60% with an 80% completion rate). Brooks played a big part in that because he failed to build pressure and his attacking kicks were mostly ineffective. So its worth dropping Brooks to see how Adam and Hastings work together. There’s not much risk to that now the season is gone and James Roberts made a successful return in reserves last weekend.
Just saw who wrote the article. Hooper. I now expect Brooks and Twal to line up against the Warriors next weekend

$300k this year, $350k next year according to Pooper.
@jedi-tiger Maybe over 2 seasons ...and that was way too much ...maybe a 250 k a season player ..at the right club

AJ was woeful in defence and Starford not much better. Welcome back Jet.
