Just as worrying for Ice was his lack of lateral movement in defence that left a massive hole for Burton to run through to set up that try.
He was terrible, and getting worse every week. For all the criticism Bateman gets, can’t question his work ethic. I’d move Bateman back to an edge, Ice dropped, Matamua to 13. Got nothing to lose.
Bateman does a lot of work in defence. As you say, you cant question his effort.

I have thought long and hard about my one word for this game and my "one" word is "I have no words".
I cannot explain how I am feeling about our performance or the outcome of a game that at one point looked quite winable, but we are Wests Tigers so nothing is a sure going except that we can lose from anywhere.

Seems harsh on Sezer, but shows how lucky we were that he didn't get binned.
Further, Mahoney got two charges - should have been binned twice.
I am hoping that Latu is fit enough to play #7, as Sullivan has looked terrible in NSW Cup.
Bit concerned about Bula too. Looked good in that first half, but had a lot of strapping on that hamstring in the second and wasn't moving freely. Shame, because he was having his best game in some time.

Not against this myself, but would be shocked if Benji went something so left-field! I think we'll see Bud at 7 or Api at 7 with Simpkin 9.
just watched the replay of the game...actually missed most of it on Saturday. First of all the officiating was atrocious, not just the ref but the touchies and bunker as well. I will not go so far as to say it lost us the game as I felt like even with the calls going against us we still could have quite easily won that game. What was blatantly obvious to me is that Latu is not a 9 and our bench forwards do not bend the line AT ALL, we lost momentum when Simpkins went off and when twal came on and then again when Seyfarth came on...Pole did ok. Having said that Stef had very few decent hit ups, Klemmer was a bit better. The standout for me is we are not utilising our left edge in attack, Samuela is a handful and could be close to our Kikau type player and Alaimalo is good under the high ball and can hit the ball up so why the hell are we not kicking to his wing more often, especially when we are going nowhere on the last play in good attacking positions.
