One Word

Coached

Despite the result I felt this was a well thought out plan to beat the Broncos. Many things didn’t go our way and we were up against a much classier team but it showed me that Benji has individual game plans to pull teams apart.

The future is bright!!!  TDS, Sukkar, Latu, Luke L, Galvin but he is not worth a million a season, yes we got done by 22 but i am pumped for the future of this club, weird hey.. Mind u, first try from Arthurs was not a try and Walters try was only 3 metres forward

100% first time in Benji's career that I could see a clear gameplan.

‘Reality’

Also I would have put API to half TDS to hooker far less disruptive when our half went off

One word. Tiers

We have been a tier 3 level team trying to get to tier 2.

Broncos and 3 or 4 other teams are tier 1 and we have a long way to go to get to that tier.

yes those 2 tries were ridiculous and then when you consider Luke should have put it down in the corner and Royce pushover was also one that only we could get called out for then the game was actually within our grasp (that’s even before our goal kicking issues)

Expected - Honestly, I didn't think the boys would win this one. But, what a first half performance. Out played the Bronco's for 35 of 40 mins. Surprised them with a great game plan. Second half had our guys trying to play catchup, and clearly the Bronc's gathered themselves, no doubt after a big spray from Madge. Bronc's are a top 3-4 team and we are climbing up off the mat after a few KO's over the past seasons. Well done lads, Tigers on the Rise.. Claws Out..

One word - Impressive

Broncos came into this game off a 8 day turnaround, 3 weeks playing at home, home game and full strength and looking like a top 4 team

Tigers came into this game off a 6 day turnaround and a short one at that given late Synday game, flying to Brisbane, missing our 1.2m half, starting winger and best backrower, 4 19 yr olds and a 20 yr old rookie

We lead the Broncos for 40 mins, should have finished 6 tries each given the ridiculous forward pass on the Walters try and Hunt effectively scoring a try.

We have a genuine team this year - last night convinced me we can make the finals.

So Impressed with the whole squad and the coach last night. Wow

My one word is Heads

  1. We came out at half time thinking  we've got  this but did not  keep  our Heads in the game and bam they scored 2 quick easy tries and we had to scramble  for the  rest of the game

Unflattering - the score line that is, since it doesn’t reflect the competitiveness the Tigers showed. There were times when the Tigers were outclassed by Brisbane, notably by Reynolds, Hunt and Carrigan. They were the better team and deserved to win. But there was some great attacking play from the Tigers, who scored 5 tries and should have got a sixth.

And man, that officiating was a punish. I am a biased observer but Arthurs looked to me like he knocked on while grounding the ball. The Walters try was a clear forward pass. And Ashley Klein really got his rule book out to deny Royce Hunt a try. Klein is like a bloke who knows 100 ways to have sex, but doesn’t know any women.

The Walters knock on at dummy half late was another howler, though by then the game was gone.

The defence still needs work. Brisbane found joy on our left, and Carrigan’s passing at the line was a threat. The kicking game from Reynolds, Hunt and Walsh was very good. Yet for a very inexperienced Tigers team there was a lot to like.

KICKING had a huge impact in this games flow and final result.

Brisbane was simply superb.

Reynolds wore his hammy out kicking so well. 4/4 conversions.

Line drop out that almost caught WT napping but did show what Bula can be as open field running fullback.

2 Point Field Goal = 8 points in 3 minutes before half time.

Chip and Chase to score 2nd try after halftime was game over.

B. Hunt grubber for 1st try, 40/20 to start 2nd half, try next set.

Walsh, 3/3 conversions + 1/1 Penalty Goal. Bomb for final try.

Wests Tigers, lacking.

Conversions 2/5, 0/3 to start, with 3 separate kickers all missing at least 1.

This led to team being not further ahead in first half and then further behind with 2 early tries in 2nd half.

Scoreboard pressure then takes over sooner than it otherwise might have.

Positive- Galvin- great short kicks including 1st try.

Fainu- 1 Bad kick caught easily in-goal; extra tackle set for Brisbane first try.

Team hung in and showed they weren't overawed but with Luai etc out the class, experience and talent of Brisbane was too hard to match for full 80.

However, I'm glad they didn't concede 50 as they played better than that.

The oddity that is the NRL draw now sees the team play the Knights and Eels both a 2nd time by the end of round 7.

If the team stays connected and plays with the belief they have shown so far, they are both more than winnable games.

here's hoping. 🙏

I just had a look at the rules & couldn’t find anything to say Pole should’ve been penalised. Unless Klein said he was obstructing which he wasn’t.

My one word "jerome" we lost our heads after 30 mins and really needed his presence on the field. It's obvious Api cannot keep the team focussed and accountable from dummy half and this shows how critical Jerome is to the team. We have had a number of 10 - 15 minutes periods in games over the first 4 rounds where we lost our way and I'm pretty sure he led the way back.

My word: Relief.

Relief that the Broncs didn't score 50 as that would be the end of any title hopes this year for our WT.

Mind you, I'm hoping the Storm can get over 50 against Manly within the next 10 minutes. It's 48-14 atm. C'mon Paps, Stef and Shawn. You owe us!!
