Following the confirmation of the 2023 NRL schedule, avid rugby league fans are already looking forward to some exciting fixtures down the road.
However, the Wests Tigers fans are hoping that their fortunes will turn under Tim Sheens, with incoming stars like Api Koroisau and Isaiah Papali’i expected to contribute significantly to the quest.
At the moment, 2023 seems like another lean year for the Wests Tigers, currently rated at 7.52% to make the finals and 0.11% chance to win the minor premiership. However, the Tigers are still hopeful that their squad is strong enough to challenge most of its competitors.

The Wests Tigers will kick off their 2023 NRL campaign with two games at the Leichhardt Oval within seven days, starting with a twilight game on 5th March against the Titans. That will be followed by an afternoon game against the Newcastle Knights on Sunday, 12th March.
Four out of six Wests Tigers games will be hosted in Sydney, including the Round 6 clash against the Parramatta Eels during Easter Monday at the Accord Stadium. That will be the first time that new club signing Isaiah Papali’i will go against his former team since leaving. However, full information about this Easter Monday match will be confirmed for Tigers fans with the CommBank Stadium package in the coming days.
The Wests Tigers’ first match at the Campbelltown Sports Stadium comes in the ANZAC Round on 23rd April when they’ll go against the Sea Eagles. The other two matches in the Southwest will be against the Melbourne Storm and Canberra Raiders in June.
This year, the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup has also added complexity to the upcoming competition as several venues won’t be available beyond July. That includes the Leichhardt Oval and Campbelltown Sports. However, the Tigers still have four home games from Round 18 onwards.
Two of these matches will be hosted at the CommBank Stadium (against Sharks on 6th July and Dolphins on 19th August). The game against the Rabbitohs will be hosted at Tamworth, and the home match against the warriors will be held in Hamilton on 12th August. This home will be staged in New Zealand as a show of gratitude for the sacrifices the warriors made during the lockdown.
The Tigers Round 10 home game against the Dragons will also be hosted away as part of the Magic Round. This match will occur at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on 7th May.
